Lincoln Hall was a quintessential Australian man who showed a passion for the outdoors from an early age. At the age of 17, he climbed the mountain for the first time at an altitude of 2,000 meters and began his ascent from there. After graduating from college, Lincoln found a stable job and the financial conditions allowed him to set about preparing for his dream of climbing Mount Everest, the world's highest peak.

At the age of 29, Lincoln finally assembled a four-man climbing team and began a year-long program to climb Mount Everest. They chose the relatively difficult northeastern route and set up camp in a small village in Nepal. In order to adapt to the plateau environment, the team members conducted a three-month training and adaptation in advance on other high mountains around Mount Everest. In addition to the necessary climbing equipment, they also brought an abundance of high-calorie food and medicine.

However, altitude sickness and bad weather caused great difficulties for the team. At an altitude of 7,000 meters, Lincoln and another member of the team, Robert, both suffered from severe altitude sickness, and the captain decided to stop the ascent and set up camp next to a glacial lake to recover. During his week at the camp, Lincoln's physical condition did not improve, and in order not to delay the other two team members, he offered to withdraw from the team. The captain arranged for Robert to accompany Lincoln down the mountain.

The remaining two then continued their journey to the summit after a brief recovery and successfully reached the summit a month later, completing the team's goal. Lincoln and Robert encountered a snowstorm on their way down the mountain and had to stop again to set up camp and wait for the snow to stop. At one point, Lincoln considered this failure to reach the summit the greatest failure and regret of his life.

One day, 17 years later, 51-year-old Lincoln received an invitation from a mountaineering club to join an elderly mountaineering team to challenge Everest again. This opportunity meant a lot to Lincoln, and although the family was worried, they agreed to let him fulfill his lifelong dream. This time, Lincoln chose the relatively more difficult Northwest Ridge route.

After thorough preparation, the team began to make its way to Mount Everest when the climbing season came. Lincoln was in good physical condition and gradually adapted to the highland environment. However, the weather was not good, and they suffered an avalanche at 8,000 meters, forcing the team to stop and deal with the wounded. Just as everyone was about to continue their ascent, Lincoln's body suffered severe altitude sickness, trismus and confusion.

Considering Lincoln's age and constitution, the team doctor recommended that the elevation be terminated immediately and Lincoln should be given first aid. The team moved Lincoln to a slightly lower point for rescue breathing. Thanks to the efforts of the team doctor, Lincoln's vital signs finally recovered, and the critical moment was over. But it also meant that Lincoln missed the summit of Everest for the second time.

Lincoln, on the advice of the team doctor, went down the mountain with two team members. The other three set off again to challenge the summit after making sure Lincoln's condition was stable. A week later, they managed to reach the top, marking the completion of the entire team's goal.

This trip to Everest had a profound impact on Lincoln. Although he failed to reach the summit again, Lincoln was deeply touched by the tenacious mountaineering spirit of his teammates and their mutual support in the face of difficulties. This precious friendship and team spirit became an important spiritual sustenance for Lincoln later in life.

Lincoln's last return to Everest was on a commercial mountaineering 10 years later. This time, Lincoln chose to complete the golf ball demonstration accompanied by guides and medical staff. Although he did not reach the summit, Lincoln completed a golf performance at an altitude of 10,000 meters, and actively spread the spirit of challenging himself and being positive.
