The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, has announced plans to host a new competitive sporting event, The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko Golf Day. The inaugural event will kick off on Monday, June 17 at the famous Nikko Country Club in Tokorono District. The hotel is now offering a special luxury package, which includes a one-night stay on 16 June, admission to the next day's competition, an exclusive welcome reception, as well as exclusive dining and chauffeur-drive service, which can be booked directly through the hotel's official channels.
Tochigi Prefecture is easily accessible to and from Tokyo, making it an excellent choice for golfers in the Kanto region, with several highly regarded golf courses. In particular, Nikko Country Club's classic course will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2025 and will also host the 90th Japan Open, one of Japan's most important domestic tournaments. The traditional 18-hole course was designed by Seiichi Inoue (1908–1981). Seiichi Inoue is praised for creating layouts that fit into the natural terrain and blend in with the natural landscape. The natural contours of the course take advantage of its location along the Otani River in the southern part of the Kirigo Highlands, where the flat terrain and beautiful open fairway views attract many golfers. From the fairway, guests can enjoy the magnificent scenery of Mt. Mt. Mt. and Mt. Nsumine, as well as the majestic peaks of the sun-lit mountains. Since its opening in 1955, Nikko Country Club has built a reputation as the second golf course in Tochigi Prefecture and has become the host of many major tournaments.
