Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is in great shape, but there are still some cool concepts that haven't been realized due to time and scale constraints — in an interview with IGN Beyond, Insomnia Senior Creative Director Bryan Intihar revealed an early idea for the development team: let Venom Parasitize control the Sandman.
He said, "I'm going to have to tell you something that no one knows." We used to have a concept of 'Venom Sandman'. ”
In the current game, Peter and Miles defeat the Sandmen and then don't get involved in any other episodes. Mr Intihar said this was due to the size and time constraints of the development.
"It's hard enough to make a sandman," he said. But it's not because of special copyright reasons or anything that we can't do this (Venom Sandman). What we care more about is: can we do it in the limited time we have and achieve the level of quality we expect? Like I said, we did talk about concept art for 'Venom Sandman', which was super cool! ”
"Maybe one day... I'm going to get in trouble for saying that, but it doesn't matter, that's a pretty cool concept. We're never going to be able to finish it at the level of quality we'd expect, and it's going to be a huge challenge, and it's hard enough to make the Sandman as cool as it is now.
"I was like, okay, so now we're going to have to make a version of Venom? Then, the team worked harder than I had expected at the beginning. So I thought, let's not do it. ”
