However, one question worth pondering is whether the United States can really save Taiwan? U.S. experts suggest that the PLA has a strategy that can leave the United States helpless. According to the analysis of Han Li, a former East Asian military intelligence officer at the US Defense Intelligence Agency, the solution to the Taiwan issue does not necessarily require a war with the United States in the Taiwan Strait, but can balance Taiwan and the United States by "blockading Taiwan". From the perspective of the United States, wars usually seek quick victories, but if the PLA chooses to blockade Taiwan without confronting the US military, the US strategy of quick victory will be difficult to achieve. This will lead to a stalemate between China and the United States in the Taiwan Strait, and the situation will be unfavorable for the long-range support forces of the United States.
From Taiwan's perspective, Taiwan's economy is highly dependent on international trade and its capacity for self-sufficiency is limited. If the PLA blocks Taiwan, it will be difficult for Taiwan to last long. Therefore, if the United States cannot provide rapid support and force the PLA to confront it head-on, the Taiwan issue may be resolved.
These views suggest that the United States also faces challenges when it comes to Taiwan, and that the PLA has many ways to balance Taiwan and the United States. The complexity of this issue requires careful consideration on all sides in order to avoid the escalation of conflicts and crises.
