According to Huatian in the statement, he became aware of the incident when he received the notification from the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) in July 2023 and reported the incident to the Chinese Equestrian Association.
According to his explanation, the incident was due to contamination that caused Chicko to be infected with a trace amount of acetamide nicotinate, which led to a positive test result.
The case was a grass control violation and the FEI had provided him with the appropriate administrative procedures and a ruling.

As a member of the Chinese national team, Huatian showed outstanding performances: in 2008, he became the first athlete in Chinese history to participate in the Olympic triathlon; In 2012, he became the only athlete who qualified to represent China in the triathlon events of the London Olympic Games. In 2014, he won the second place in the equestrian triathlon at the Incheon Asian Games; In 2016, he represented China in the equestrian competition of the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and finished eighth.
In early June, he and the Chinese team competed in the F/G qualifiers of the triathlon at the Paris Olympics in Millstreet, Ireland.
After three events, cap dance, cross-country and show jumping, the Chinese team ranked second with 122.1 penalties and successfully sealed the qualification for the team competition at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
