The Power of Typhoon "Puppy": the collapse of nature and the counterattack of humans
According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, the center of this year's No. 14 typhoon "KOINU" (super typhoon) was located in the northwest Pacific Ocean about 465 kilometers south-east of Eluanbi in Taiwan Province, mainland China, at 8 a.m. on October 3.
The "little dog" swept in and wreaked havoc, and this super typhoon carried a violent storm and pushed the island of Taiwan to the brink of collapse. Between this immense force of nature and the courageous counterattack of human beings, emotions and challenges are intertwined, evoking deep shock.
Super typhoon "Little Dog", although the name is cute, but the power it brings cannot be underestimated. Its maximum wind force is as high as 16 (52 m/s) and the central pressure is only 935 hPa, which is intimidating. Located in the south-east of Eluanbi, Taiwan Province, it is only 465 kilometers away from Taiwan, 20.6 degrees north latitude, 125.1 degrees east longitude, like the furious beast of nature, roaring on the northwest Pacific Ocean. The seven-level wind circle has a wide radius, reaching 300-550 kilometers, and the ten-level and twelfth wind circles are equally frightening.
Although the "puppy" is so powerful, the human spirit of fighting back is equally shocking. Forecasts show that it will move northwest at a speed of 10-15 kilometers per hour, gradually approaching the southern coast of the island. In the process, although its intensity will not change significantly, it will make landfall or brush the southern coast of Taiwan Island from the night of the 4th to the morning of the 5th, bringing strong typhoon-level winds of 45-50 m/s (14-15). After that, the "puppy" will move in a westerly direction, gradually weakening in intensity. This is the moment for people to face a typhoon, and they will launch a resolute counterattack to protect life and property.
The high winds brought by the typhoon are also a big challenge. From the southern part of the East China Sea to the waters around the Diaoyu Islands, to the east of Taiwan, the Bus Strait, and the Taiwan Strait, strong winds will roar, challenging people's courage and wisdom. The sea in the southeast of Taiwan Island will receive a wind of 9-12 degrees, and the nearby sea where the center of Typhoon "Little Dog" passes will even receive winds of 13-16 degrees, and gusts can reach 17.
