Note: Sima Qian, also known as Taishi Gong, was born in Longmen (present-day Hancheng County, Shaanxi Province), and was a famous historian of the Han Dynasty. When Sima Qian was twenty-eight years old, he served as Taishi Ling, inherited his father's business, and wrote history. In the second year of the Tianhan Dynasty, he interceded for Li Ling, who had defeated the Xiongnu, and was punished by the palace to anger Emperor Wu of Han.
