Guangxi News Network Guest, August 28 (Correspondent Qin Shifen) On August 26, Qiaogong Hydropower Station held the 2021 annual fish artificial breeding and stocking activity. The relevant work leaders of Laibin Municipal Ecological and Environmental Bureau, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, Maritime Safety Bureau and other units, relevant departments of Xingbin District and local fishermen were invited to attend, and members of the leading group of Qiaogong Hydropower Station attended the event.

The event was held near the fish breeding and stocking station of Qiaogong Hydropower Station, and the whole activity was supervised by the notary of the Notary Office of Laibin City. With the theme of "Maintaining Ecological Balance and Building Green Mountains and Green Mountains", a total of 580,000 fry were released, including 11 species, including spotted carp, Uhara carp, dark-lipped carp, long-rumped bass, white turtle, mud carp, red-eyed trout and "four major fish", of which dark-lipped carp was the first to be released.

As the ninth cascade power station in the development of the Hongshui River Ten Levels, Qiaogong Hydropower Station has always attached great importance to the ecological and environmental protection work in the construction and operation of the project, consciously practiced the major responsibility of ecological and environmental protection construction, fulfilled the responsibility of state-owned enterprises, and in 2011 focused on investing in the construction of the first comprehensive fish breeding and stocking station integrating scientific research, breeding and domestication of the Hongshui River Ten-level Power Station. Over the years, Qiaogong Hydropower Station has cooperated with domestic advanced fish research enterprises to carry out long-term research on the artificial breeding technology of 12 kinds of national key protected and rare and endemic fish in The Hongshui River. At present, nearly one million fry of key fish with environmental protection requirements in the watershed, such as spotted trout, black plain carp, red-eyed trout, mud carp, long-rumped fish, white turtle, large-eyed curlfish and dark-lipped carp, have been bred. In particular, in May this year, the Fish Breeding Station of Qiaogong Hydropower Station successfully obtained the artificial breeding license of the national second-level protected animals, the Spotted Plover and the Wuyuan Carp, relying on the scientific research advantages of the breeding of spotted trout and Wuyuan carp, becoming the first breeding station in Guangxi to obtain the breeding license of Wuyuan carp. In addition, in order to overcome the difficulties of scientific research and technology, the newly built scientific research building will also be put into use, and in the future, it will further break through the artificial breeding of fish, maintain the ecological balance of the RedWater River, effectively enhance the regeneration capacity of fishery resources in the Redwater River, and achieve sustainable development.

Since the engineering water storage in 2008, Qiaogong Hydropower Station has carried out artificial fish breeding and stocking activities for many years, releasing a total of more than 11 million fish species, of which about 7.73 million rare fish in hongshui river have played a positive role in effectively supplementing and restoring the fish germplasm resources of hongshui river, protecting biodiversity in hongshui river basin and improving the ecological environment.
