The origin of bowen pot helmets

Bowang pot helmet, which has long been known as the pride of Chinese and foreign Bowang people, with its own unique local characteristics to attract guests from all over the world, Bowang pot helmet more and more people's attention, today let us explore her past here, reveal her origin of history:

Let us walk into the Western Han Dynasty more than two thousand years ago, when the population was very sparse; the social production at that time was extremely backward; the transportation at that time was extremely underdeveloped... This has become a necessary condition for the birth of the Bowang pot helmet. Because people who travel on foot have to bring dry food to fill their hunger, dry food has become an indispensable thing for people to travel, so the steamed bread made of large and wheat, the pot stickers made of grain, and the dumplings made of buckwheat are all dry foods prepared by people for travel. Making dry food has also become a must-have at home.

Since the spring of 123 BC, Zhang Qian was awarded the title of Marquis of Bowang by Emperor Wu for his military merits in the Northern Expedition, and the Marquis Zhang Qian came to the fiefdom, and Bowang also entered the sight of history. Zhang Qian used his bounty to build a tall and strong stone bridge for the people of Bowang City, which was called "Zhang Qian Bridge" by posterity and left a good story of "bounty to build a bridge" for the people of the fiefdom for thousands of years. When he first arrived at the Bowang fiefdom, he was praised by the people, and later he exempted the people from taxation and promulgated a series of laws and regulations, so that the people without land and little land were allocated to the land, which restricted the exploitation of the fiefs by the rich and cool officials; he also rewarded the reclamation of the wasteland, and set aside an area for the people on the barren Bowang slope and let the area be reclaimed; in order to maintain the expenses of the Hou Mansion, he personally led the people of the Hou Mansion to reclaim the land on the Bowang Slope and cultivate the land. All these measures soon enriched the people of Bowang.

In this way, Hou Ye Zhang Qian was quietly given the title of "Marquis of commoners" by the people of the fiefdom. Zhang Qian and the people's hearts got closer and closer, and they were closely connected, and the people regarded the affairs of the Houfu as their own affairs, the peasants in the Houfu were busy, and the people took the initiative to help; Zhang Qian also regarded the affairs of the people as his own affairs, and the people responded to their needs. Unfortunately, the days of the fiefdom people and Marquis were too short!

In the early summer of 121 BC, when Marquis Zhang Qian sent an army to attack the Xiongnu Zuoxian King in the Northern Expedition, he was stripped of the marquis by Emperor Wu because of his late assistance to the general Li Guang, and was demoted to a commoner. When he returned to the fiefdom and returned with his family to his homeland of Chenggu, Shaanxi, the people of chengyi, at the suggestion of Bai Sanlao (三老: the people who in the township in the Han Dynasty were bishops of the townships), each household in the city donated a handful of wheat from their own granary, peeled it with a pestle, and burned it into six thick large cakes with a simmer in a pot, which contained the deep affection of the thousands of people in the fiefdom for Marquis Zhang Qian.

In order not to disturb the people's agricultural busyness, Zhang Qian decided to leave at night, and when he walked to the big stone bridge he had built for the people of the city with the bounty, Bai Sanlao and his people had been waiting here for most of the night, and he asked people to carry a package containing six large flapjacks and put it in front of Zhang Qian. Zhang Qian was attracted by the strong noodle aroma of a barbecue, he lifted one to see, huh! This large flapjack was more than an inch thick, weighing seven or eight pounds, round like a big bucket and like a big helmet, and the irresistible noodle fragrance was refreshing. Bai Sanlao said to Zhang Qian: "This is a kind of dry food that the people of the city love to eat, it is made of hair noodles, repeatedly roasted over a low flame, the aroma is strong and the kang has dried up the water, and it will not be moldy for a year and a half." Zhang Qian said happily: "Old man, such a good kind of dry food, I don't know what the name is?" The old man said, "Everyone calls it a big flapjack." Zhang Qian said, "Such a big flaky cake is like a big helmet, it's better to call it a 'pot helmet'!" Bai SanLao hurriedly said, "Thank you Hou Ye for giving the name of the big flaky cake!" Then the old man told Zhang Qian that the raw materials of these six large cakes were from the granaries of the people in the city, and implored Zhang Qian to accept this gift and fulfill the people's grateful and longing hearts for Hou Ye. Zhang Qian was very moved, so he accepted these large cakes and left the fiefdom with his family.

The origin of bowen pot helmets

Perhaps Hou Ye Zhang Qian's call of the big flaky cake as a pot helmet is just a random sentence, but in the hearts of the people of the fiefdom, the word "pot helmet" was given by Hou Ye, and the renaming of the big flaky cake to the pot helmet also represents the nostalgia of the fiefdom people for Marquis Zhang Qian. For this reason, the pot helmet has also become a kind of sustenance for the Bowang people to miss Hou Ye Zhang Qian.s feelings. Therefore, the word pot helmet soon replaced the big flapjack, and became famous in the world, becoming the best of the dry food. The ancient "Silk Road" to the western region was gradually opened up, walking in the deserted Gobi, desert camel caravans, there is no durable storage of long-term dry food obviously can not support, so we have reason to believe that the brilliant world of Bowang pot helmet once accompanied the camel bell through the vast Gobi, across the western countries, providing inexhaustible power for the merchant brigade!

Two thousand years of time turned back, pot helmet played an important role in people's lives at that time; two thousand years of time to this day, pot helmet is now Bowang people as a kind of food to enjoy. Two thousand degrees of vicissitudes, she with her unchanging thick, sweet, fragrant and firm taste, competing for the taste of all tasters. It is indeed a pity to come to Bowang and not to taste this thousand-year-old famous food! Correspondent: Gao Zhao
