Hello everyone!

We are the Marquis of Jin.

Marquis Su of Jin ~ Our master, the eighth generation of the Jin Dynasty. The author has already introduced it in the previous article.

Today, let's tell the legendary story that happened to us.

First, let's talk about the identity of our ~ chimes.

Zeng Houyi chimes

Chimes are actually percussion instruments like drums, but we are large hanging percussion instruments.

As early as the Shang Dynasty more than 3500 years ago, China had our traces, but at that time, we were generally three pieces in a set.

Later, with the development of the times, the number of our sets was also increasing.

The purpose of our chimes is to play large percussion instruments when we see the Son of Heaven or when we worship ancestors and gods.

The places where we usually play are in the court, and the folk can't use us to play at will!

Even the arrangement of the performance is strictly stipulated in the "Zhou Li".

For example, the three chimes of Tianzi are placed on three sides, the princes have two chimes on both sides, and the doctor has one chime on one side.

The nobles put us in this way to show the strictness of the hierarchy in the Western Zhou Dynasty.

We ~ JinHou Su Bell, a total of 16 pieces, divided into two groups.

Because we have a large number of people, the tones we represent are different, so if we want to play a good music, we must not only have strength, but also have ingenuity.

You see, the tallest of us is 52 centimeters, and it takes a lot of force to ring it.

The brothers in our group were all big, and people called them big bells. The ornamentation on their bodies is shallow and thin. (I guess because the brothers are fat, the pattern is shallow by them [sneaking laughs])

The brothers in our lower group are small and medium-sized, and as the name suggests, we are called small and medium-sized clocks, and the ornaments on our bodies are deep and wide (thick).

Don't look at us as big as our brothers, but we make a louder voice than them, and the law of our pronunciation is that the small head ~ high pitch ~ low volume, the big head ~ low pitch ~ volume.

Unexpectedly, we also incorporated the mathematical content of positive and inverse ratios here.

Now, let me tell you about our "pain and happiness" life.

Saying that "Bird Zun" has a hard life, it is much better than us, at least, people have recovered their appearance and become a big coffee star in the Shanxi Museum, an Internet celebrity.

But what about us? I also have to suffer from the pain of the brothers...

Among us, 14 chime brothers are presented to tourists in front of the Shanghai Museum as the treasure of the town museum, and they are talked about by everyone.

While our brothers and sisters were in the Shanxi Museum, quietly staying in the exhibition hall of "Jinguo Hegemony" on the second floor, although there were many tourists who asked for it, the limelight was always inferior to that "little bird" [black line].

However, we are happy [yay] for two reasons:

First, our excavations prove the authenticity of the identities of the fourteen brothers in the Shanghai Museum.

Second, we are at least in our great China, maybe we can be reunited again that day.

The son makes a fool of the bird

(That little bird is not necessarily, I heard that there is a bird named Bird Zun still staying in the Freer Museum of Fine Arts in the United States, want to reunite, almost impossible, alas, is also a bird [tear running])

Our brothers are also displaced by tomb robbers, north and south.

On that day in 1994, our brothers appeared in the Hong Kong antique market with the figure of 14 chimes.

Because, the text on these 14 chimes all appears in the form of inscriptions. But the problem is that this set of chimes comes from the Western Zhou Dynasty, which dates back more than 3,000 years.

Because no one believed that in the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Jin people had already made metal carving knives that were harder than bronze to carve on bronze?

Therefore, when the antique shop owner claimed that the 14 chimes he sold were a set of real ancient chimes from the Western Zhou Dynasty, no one dared to believe it.

So these 14 chimes stayed in the warehouse as "fakes" with "no market".

Tribute to Mr. Ma Chengyuan

Until one day, Mr. Ma Chengyuan, the old director of the Shanghai Museum, saw the photos of this group of chimes in a report, and after careful identification, he vigorously defied the public opinion and spent a huge amount of money to buy 14 chimes back, so that our brothers no longer moved and were homeless.

However, there are still many experts who do not agree with the authenticity of this chime because of the doubts. It can be imagined how much pressure Mr. Ma Lao was at that time.

It wasn't until one day that our brothers, after being excavated and cleaned up by archaeologists from the site of Tianma-Qucun in Quwo County, Shanxi Province, did they really "verify the right body" for our 14 brothers.

Because, whether in texture or style, we are completely consistent with the 14 chimes purchased by the Shanghai Museum, and the text engraved on us has a relationship of upper and lower inheritance.

It can also be determined that there is a supporting relationship between us, which belongs to a series of bronze chimes, and also proves that the 14 pieces in the Shanghai Museum are indeed genuine.

It was a great joy for everyone.

The combined Jinhou Shu Zhong

If you have time to go to the Shanghai Museum, when you are close to the display cases of our 14 brothers, you will also hear the chimes music set in "Yangguan Three Stacks", and the natural sound of the crisp clanging sound is played with the sound of our chimes that are three thousand years apart.

We, the Marquis of Jin, are honored to be selected as one of the first batch of cultural relics prohibited from going abroad (border) to exhibit. You know, the first batch of only 64 pieces (groups) Oh! [Laughs] [Laughs] [Laughs]

We are proud!
