As the name suggests, bamboo shell collage is a kind of painting art that uses bamboo shells for artistic processing such as cutting, pasting and painting. Xing'an County is located in the subtropical monsoon climate zone, the temperature is suitable, the rainfall is abundant, is the main birthplace of the Xiang River, Li River, the county's rivers are longitudinal, the land is fertile, rich in moso bamboo, for the bamboo shell collage provides sufficient resources. At the same time, Xing'an has a long history, is the intersection of the Central Plains Han culture and the Lingnan Baiyue culture, giving birth to a wealth of folk art, bamboo shell collage is one of them.

Jiang Xinxin was born in 1947 in a family of scholars in Jeonju County, Guilin City. Since childhood, he has loved art, is good at brush figure painting, glazed color murals, improved the Xing'an glass mirror painting process, created the Xing'an bamboo shell collage, and has won gold, silver and bronze awards in the China Folk Crafts Exposition and the Guangxi Arts and Crafts Competition for many times. He is now a master of Guangxi Arts and Crafts, a master of Folk Crafts in Guangxi, a member of Guilin Artists Association, and a member of Guilin Arts and Crafts Association.
