Helen in the game Total War: Troy

In the 12th century BC, the famous war broke out in the West, the Trojan War.

The war was fought over Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, and the Greek coalition led by Agamemnon and Menelaus attacked the city of Troy, with Priamus as king.

In China, there are also wars caused by one person, but only a man. This person is Han Fei.

Han Fei in "Great Qin Fu"

As mentioned earlier, Han Fei lamented that honest and upright people were not tolerated by the evil and treacherous ministers, so he examined the gains and losses of the past and the present, and wrote more than 100,000 words of works such as "Lonely Anger", "Five Beetles", "Inner and Outer Reserves", "Saying Forest", and "Saying Difficulty".

Han Fei's writings later spread to the Qin state. The Qin emperor Yingzheng (later known as the First Emperor) read it and said in amazement: "Alas, I want to see this person and be able to associate with him, even if I die, it is not a pity." ”

The King of Qin in The Great Qin Fu

Han Fei's classmate Li Si said to the King of Qin, "This is Han Fei's work. ”

After the King of Qin knew about it, he sent a large army to attack Korea urgently, with only one purpose, to get Korea to hand over Han Fei.

How could weak Korea overwhelm the powerful Qin state. At first, Han Wang'an still did not want to use Han Fei, and when the situation was urgent, he sent Han Fei as an envoy to the Qin State.

After Han Fei arrived in the Qin Kingdom, the King of Qin was particularly happy, because his crush had finally come to his side.

One is a great philosopher, thinker, political commentator, representative of the school of jurists, and aggregators who have never been before or since. One is an ancient emperor who has never been ancient before and has no ancient people after.

Even decades later, the great talent Jia Yi had to admit in the "Treatise on Passing the Qin": "As far as the First Emperor, Yu Lie of the Sixth Emperor, Zhen Chang Ce and Yu Yu Nei, swallowed the princes of the second week and died, performed the supreme and made the Liuhe, and the world was whipped and whipped, and the world was virgent." Taking the land of Baiyue in the south, thinking that guilin and Xiang County, the king of Baiyue bowed his head and tied his neck, and entrusted his subordinates. It was to make Meng Tian build the Great Wall and defend the fence, but the Xiongnu were more than seven hundred miles; the Hu people did not dare to go south and herd horses, and the soldiers did not dare to bend their bows and complain. ”

To be able to achieve one of these achievements, he is already a monarch with achievements, and the King of Qin has accomplished so much. Therefore, the King of Qin is a well-deserved emperor of the ages.

In this way, two men who do not love beautiful women and love the country and are single-minded in their careers have gathered together. But it takes time for Han Fei and the King of Qin to build trust, and they come from two hostile countries.

At that time, Li Si and Yao Jia were jealous of Han Fei and slandered han fei in front of the king of Qin, saying, "Han Fei is the prince of Han. Now that the great king wants to annex all the countries, Han Fei will eventually help Korea instead of the Qin state, which is the common sentiment of people. Now that the great king did not appoint him, he stayed in the Qin kingdom for a long time, and then let him go back, which was the bane left for himself. It would be better to add a crime to him and execute him according to law. ”

The King of Qin thought that what he said was right, so he ordered the magistrate to convict Han Fei. Li Si sent someone to send poison to Han Fei and told him to commit suicide.

Han Fei was unwilling and wanted to state right and wrong to the King of Qin in person, but he couldn't see it. After all, the King of Qin still liked Han Fei, and later regretted it and sent someone to pardon him, but unfortunately Han Fei was already dead.

However, according to the Warring States Policy, Han Fei died in another dispute.

At that time, the four kingdoms of Yan, Zhao, Yue, and Chu formed an alliance to prepare to attack the Qin state, and the King of Qin summoned more than sixty ministers and guests to discuss countermeasures. The King of Qin asked, "At present, when the four countries are jointly attacking Qin, and our country is in a time when its financial resources are exhausted and the war is lost, how should it deal with the enemy?" The ministers did not know how to answer. At this time, Yao Jia stood up and volunteered: "The subject is willing to send an envoy to the four kingdoms for the king, and he will definitely sabotage their plot and prevent the war from happening." The King of Qin felt that it was feasible, so he allocated him a hundred chariots and a thousand pounds of gold, and asked him to wear his own crown and wear his own sword. So Yao Jia bid farewell to the King of Qin and visited the Four Kingdoms. Yao Jia's visit not only achieved the strategy of stopping the four countries from attacking Qin, but also established friendly diplomatic relations with the four countries. The King of Qin was very happy, and immediately gave him a thousand cities and appointed him Shangqing.

Han Fei accused Yao Jia: "Yao Jia took pearls and heavy treasures and sent envoys to Jing, Wu, Yan, Dai and other places for three years, and the countries in these places may not sincerely ally with the Qin state, but the treasures in their own treasury have been scattered." This is actually Yao Jia borrowing the power of the great king, using the treasures of the Qin state, privately befriending the princes, hoping that the great king will look into it. What's more, Yao Jia was just the son of a gatekeeper in Wei's capital Daliang, who had served as a thief in the State of Wei, and although he had served as an official in the State of Zhao, he was later expelled. ”

So the King of Qin summoned Yao Jia and asked, "The widow has heard that you used the treasures of the Qin Kingdom to make friends with the princes, but is there such a thing?" Yao Jiatan said, "Yes." The King of Qin changed his face and said, "Then what face do you have to meet the widow again?" Yao Jia replied, "In the past, when I was filial to my parents, everyone in the world hoped to have such a son; Wu Xu was loyal to the Lord, and all the princes of the world were willing to take him as a subject; virgins were good at female workers, and men in the world were willing to take them as wives." But the subjects were loyal to the king, but the king did not know, and if the subjects did not give the treasure to those four countries, who else could they submit to? The king thought again, if the subject is not loyal to the king, why should the king of the four kingdoms trust the subject? Xia Jie listened to the rumors and killed the liang general Guan Longfeng, and the King of Sui listened to the rumors and killed the loyal minister Bigan, so that he died and the country died. Now that the king listens to the rumors, there will be no more loyal subjects to contribute to the country. ”

The King of Qin added, "The widow has heard that you are the son of the janitor, the thief of Wei, and the vassal of Zhao. Yao Jia said, "Taigong Jiang is a Qi man who was expelled from his home by his wife, a useless butcher who could not even sell meat during the Chaoge period, and a courtier who was expelled by Zi Liang. However, King Wen had a unique vision and used it as a supplement to eventually establish Wang Ye. Guan Zhong was nothing more than a merchant in the border areas of the State of Qi, poor in Nanyang, and imprisoned during his time in the State of Lu, and duke Huan of Qi appointed him to establish a hegemony. Bai Lixi was originally just a beggar in the State of Yu, worth only five sheepskins, but after Duke Mu of Qin appointed him as a minister, he was invincible to Xi Rong, and in the past, Duke Wen of Jin relied on the thieves of the State of Zhongshan, but he was able to win the Battle of Chengpu. These people are all from humble origins, with a notoriety, and even despised by the people, and the Lord uses them because he knows that they can build immortal merits for the country. If everyone is like Bian Sui, Wu Guang, and Shen Tudi (ancient hermits), who can serve the country? So wise monarchs do not count the faults of their courtiers, do not listen to the rumors of others, but only examine whether they can be used for their own use. Therefore, the Ming Emperor who can secure the state and the country does not listen to the slander of the outside world, and does not reward those who have the name of Qinggao and the merit of no size. In this way, all those who are subjects do not dare to use false names to hope for the monarch. ”

King Qin said, "That's right." So he asked Yao Jia to send an envoy to the nations and "curse Han Fei."

Regarding "curse", there are three meanings, one is condemnation, such as verbal criticism, the second is the meaning of killing, and the third is the meaning of demand.

If the "诛" in "诛汉非" means to kill, then the record of Han Fei's death in the "Records of History" and the record of the "Warring States Policy" are contradictory, that is, there are two theories about Han Fei's death.

However, Han Fei said this to the King of Qin, it is difficult to say that it will lead to the crime of killing, and the King of Qin also likes Han Fei very much. Therefore, the "诛" in "诛汉非" should mean condemnation.

If this is the case, the record of the "Historical Record" does not contradict the record of the "Warring States Policy". That is to say, the record of the Warring States Policy is true. Because of this, Yao Jia held a grudge against Han Fei, so he and Li Si slandered Han Fei in front of him and forced Han Fei to commit suicide.

Either way, Han Fei, such a Korean prince, was finally forced to die in a prison in a foreign country.

If you put it in the present, this is definitely a serious diplomatic incident. But according to existing historical records, Han Fei's death does not seem to cause any ripples. There has been no protest or condemnation by the ROK and the international community, and the Qin side has not held the relevant personnel accountable.

Although Han Fei died, his writings survived. In the later dialogues between Qin II and Li Si, Han Fei's writings were often quoted in large paragraphs. Among the future emperors, "Han Feizi" is also a must-read book.
