They're coming! Qi Baishi Xu Beihong Zhang Daqian gathered in Shanghai for the first time

"Thousands of Years of Travel - Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian" at the entrance of the exhibition

On September 24th, the exhibition "Thousand Years of Travel - Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian" was held at the Aurora Museum in Shanghai, presenting more than 60 authentic works of three modern and contemporary artists, the "Zodiac" department that Xu Beihong has never systematically exhibited, as well as Qi Baishi's letter of appointment at National Peking University, and more than 10 correspondence between Xu Beihong and Qi Baishi.

This exhibition is also the first time that the works of Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong and Zhang Daqian have gathered in Shanghai.

Last year, the first group exhibition of Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong and Zhang Daqian was exhibited at Xu Beihong (Chongqing) Art Museum.

Xu Ji, curator of this exhibition and director of the Exhibition Collection Department of Xu Beihong Memorial Hall, introduced that compared with the Shanghai exhibition, in addition to the richer works, the "Thousand Years of Travel" comes from a calligraphy work by Xu Beihong, and the special feature is that Xu Beihong used a pencil to tick the line and fill it with ink, which is more like the Chinese inscription rubbing, and it is also Xu Beihong's attempt at calligraphy innovation at that time.
