At about 6 p.m., Nyima yelled "Oh Oh Oh Oh" on the mountain, and the deer obediently returned to enjoy a delicious dinner of corn and soybean meal and salt.

Nyima, who has been herding yaks all her life, has passed the flower armor, can no longer withstand the cold climate on the mountain, stays at home and has nothing to do, and now works in the sika deer base, with a monthly salary of 2800 yuan. As a poor household, he also received about 2,000 yuan in dividends last year.

In captivity, sika deer need to rely on some drugs to supplement trace elements due to single feed. Deer antler velvet begins to deteriorate after 13-14 years and is eliminated after 17-18 years. In Ziding Village, which is surrounded by mountains on all sides and has a cool climate, sika deer can eat "grass self-help" on the mountain to obtain most of the nutrients needed, and the life expectancy of deer has also increased by 5-8 years, and living for 20 years is not a problem. According to Zheng Baowei, an expert in the breeding of sika deer in Ziding Village, due to the large amount of exercise, the probability of difficult birth of sika deer will also be greatly reduced.

Ziding Village established the Dingli Aquaculture Cooperative in 2016, and 61 villagers, including 20 poor households, are all members. With the cooperative as the carrier, Ziding Village invested 5 million yuan to introduce more than 100 sika deer from Jilin Province, established a sika deer breeding base, and signed an acquisition agreement with a company in Jiulong County.

At the beginning of the introduction, although anti-stress drugs were used, more than ten sika deer died of illness one after another. Fortunately, the breeders invited in the village are very conscientious, and Although Zeren Dianzhu, who is also a poor household with Nyima, has a disability, he is particularly studious, and often consults Zheng Baowei with WeChat, telephone and other means.

In July last year, a doe rarely had a difficult birth, zeren dianzhu opened a video call, followed Zheng Baowei's guidance, and successfully delivered the fawn. This year, due to the early rainy season, some newly born calves suffered from enteritis, umbilitis, etc., zeren electric beads described in detail the situation that the deer did not eat milk, bloated stomach, did not defecate, etc. Zheng Baowei suggested that the shed should be laid more hay and kept dry, and the doe that was expected to give birth should not go up the mountain as much as possible and wait for the birth in the shed.

In addition to Zeren's electric beads, Nyima also spends 2 hours a day to inspect the fence to see if there is any damage to prevent bears, leopards and other beasts from attacking.

Under careful care, the mortality rate of sika deer in Ziding Village has been greatly reduced, and about 20 deer have been bred. In 2019, the village harvested 60 catties of deer antler velvet, plus deer blood wine, sales reached 300,000 yuan, achieved a net profit of 118,000 yuan, Zeren Dianzhu, Nyima and so on have received about 2,000 yuan in dividends. This year, it is expected to harvest 80-90 catties of deer antler velvet and achieve a net profit of 170,000 yuan.

Zheng Baowei suggested that Ziding Village put deep-processed products such as deer whip cream and purified deer antler essence on the agenda as soon as possible, "The skin tail whip tendon meat and so on have been comprehensively developed, the back-end products are brilliant, and the front-end breeding can come to the money." ”

In Fujian, Zhejiang and Guizhou, there is also a breeding model in which the company provides deer sources and technologies and purchases them, and villagers disperse breeding, which can drive more farmers to participate in the sika deer industry. Zheng Baowei believes that this model can also be tried to land in Sichuan.

Ziding Village has already begun to act. Wang Guangpu, the first secretary of the village, said that the cooperative will double the scale of aquaculture on the existing basis, and then set up processing plants on the spot to enhance the added value of products and prepare sufficient momentum for continuous income increase.
