Improving thinking, learning skills, increasing skills, expressing demands, and participating in governance, as an old magic weapon of rural education and training, rural night schools are rejuvenating in Jiaozhou City, Qingdao.
In 2021, Jiaozhou City, relying on the existing village-level activity venues, has successively built rural night schools led by village party organizations in 75 villages. The night school curriculum is all voted by the villagers, including nursery teachers, pastry chefs, welders, forklifts, traditional rice songs, legal knowledge lecture halls and other training classes.

"What is missing to learn, what is needed to be taught", these "grounded" courses have enriched the spiritual and cultural life of villagers, improved the skill level of entrepreneurship and prosperity, effectively helped rural revitalization and development, and are welcomed by the local people.
Folks become classmates
"This is my forklift certificate and welding certificate, both learned from the night school in the village, with these two certificates, the salary is higher than before, and it is easier to find a job." On September 27, Li Quangang showed his "double certificate".
Li Quangang is a villager in Jiaozhou City, Jiaobei Street, Jiaozi New Village, he has long wanted to take an intermediate vocational skills certificate, but he is distressed that he usually has no time to work, and it is far away to go to the city for classes.
At the beginning of 2021, the village opened a rural night school skills class, and Li Quangang was the first to sign up, and quickly completed the course and obtained a certificate. Today, he works for a listed company with a monthly income of 8,000 yuan.

With the improvement of the level of mechanization of agricultural production, there are fewer and fewer agricultural work, and the villagers' desire to find a job is becoming more and more intense, but most of them are facing many practical constraints such as lack of skills, lack of time to learn, and expensive training costs.
Jiaozhou City launched a village-level night school according to local conditions, taking talent revitalization as an endogenous driving force for rural revitalization, and through the subsidy policy of "first training, then getting certificates, and then retiring to make up tuition", it is most convenient for the masses to participate in training, and realizes sitting at the doorstep of the home and free learning of employment skills.
At present, the "rural night schools" in Jiaozhou City have held a total of 354 classes, training 1. 20,000 person-times, 1571 people identified various types of skilled personnel.
More and more villagers like Li Quangang have tasted the sweetness of skills training, and the night school course that began at 7 p.m. was almost full, and many villagers who did not register their names have asked for "gasseed".
If you master a skill, you will be able to increase your income. After the women who participated in the training obtained the intermediate skill certificate of nursery teacher, some went out of the house to become professional nursery teachers and began to "eat according to their ability", with a maximum monthly salary of 15,000 yuan.
Rural night schools not only bring skills to villagers, but also bring industry to rural areas. Relying on the results of skills training, Houzhai Grid established a red cultural tourism development company, developed special products such as "red research" and "Houzhai flowers and flowers", and more than 1,500 people came to Houzhai red base to study in the first half of the year, increasing the village collective income by 150,000 yuan.
The human resource structure in rural areas has also been optimized. "The villagers who have attended classes at night school are not only 'skilled', but their quality has also generally improved, from hometown affection to classmate affection, changing their identity to look at problems, and neighborhood contradictions have also decreased." Xu Guangming, secretary of the Houzhai Grid, said.
After the tea and dinner, the topic of discussion among the villagers changed from short among parents to skill learning and service village governance, and night school became a booster for a happy life in the countryside.
Level 3 Faculty Pool
On the evening of September 22, in the night school micro-class in Zhangying New Village, Licha Town, Jiaozhou City, the planting order of 2,000 mu was negotiated.
"In the early stage, we initially signed a 5,000-mu order planting framework agreement with the Licha Town Government, and seeing our night school training model, we decided to place the order of 2,000 mu in Zhangying New Village." Ye Naigui, head of Liqun Group, said.
In the construction of rural night schools, Licha Town actively invited cooperative leading enterprises to the "rural night school" site to teach the direction of enterprise operation, purchase and sales needs, etc., and built an information interaction platform and communication platform between farmers, cooperatives and enterprises.

"Rural night schools are a big platform, which can not only send various resources to the doorstep of the people, but also unite people's hearts, let the people actively participate in the development of the village, and glow the endogenous power of rural revitalization." Zhu Chunlei, deputy director of the Organization Department of the Jiaozhou Municipal Party Committee, said.
Where are the teachers from when they attend night school in the village?
Jiaozhou City integrates all kinds of educational resources, establishes a three-level teacher pool in cities, towns and villages, and integrates the business experts of 17 municipal departments such as the Agricultural and Rural Bureau, the leading cadres of town streets, the responsible persons of the stations, and the "soil experts", "Tian Xiucai" and "leaders of getting rich" in various villages into the management of the teacher pool, and at the same time docks with training institutions, improves the curriculum according to the actual needs of villagers, pays more attention to practice, and stimulates the people's interest in learning. At present, more than 700 teachers and 23 training institutions have been reserved.
Licha Town belongs to the main agricultural township, the town's cultivated land area of 11. 50,000 acres, mainly engaged in field agriculture and facility agriculture.
Focusing on promoting large-scale planting and developing modern agriculture, Licha Town focused on inviting experts from the agricultural sector to carry out agriculture-related policies and agricultural skills training, and organized the heads of model family farms and some cooperatives in the town to explain the planting technology of cash crops such as vegetables, fruits and corn.

Jing Shixin, a member of the Party Committee of Anjiagou New Village in Licha Town, is the director of the Jiaozhou Chinese Cabbage Research Institute, and has unique features in cultivating selenium-rich cabbage and selenium-rich radish, and has been included in the municipal teacher pool of rural night schools.
After lecturing on the theory in class, Jing Shixin often organized interested villagers to "practice" at his base, and has provided technical support to more than 1,200 people, becoming an active "soil expert" in the field.
Rural night schools implement "a la carte" teaching to enhance the pertinence and effectiveness of night school education and training. Through the questionnaire, the actual needs of the masses in the jurisdiction are surveyed and counted, and 10 types of "micro-courses" such as "ideology and politics", "policies to benefit farmers", "skills training", as well as the start time and frequency of classes, are included in the scope of the survey, and the masses are mobilized to actively participate in the questionnaire filling, while conducting research and publicity. With the goal of "what is missing to learn and what is needed to be taught", night school courses are set up according to the science that the masses think, hope for, and need.
Governance of the new path
With the spread of village night schools in new villages, the popularity of night schools is getting higher and higher. Jiaozhou City, taking advantage of the situation, gives full play to the unique pro-people nature of the night school, and opens a "micro-class for discussing matters together" and a "micro-class on dispute mediation", so that the neighbors have a place to "speak from the heart" and "pull the family".
Beginning in July, Jiaogezhuang Grid, Shuangjing New Village, Ligezhuang Town, Jiaozhou City, decided to build a drainage ditch, but there were many conflicts over compensation issues.
"When the village built a water canal, the vegetable garden of the family was occupied, and some compensation should be given." "As soon as it rains in our village, there is water everywhere, and this time we have to repair it well." "My family doesn't have to lose money, it's a good thing to build a drainage canal." ......
On the evening of August 2, the villagers' representatives gathered at the Xingguang Village Night School "Micro-class for Discussion and Discussion" to express their opinions. Xue Qiaohui, secretary of the party branch of The Jiaogezhuang Grid, replied to the questions raised by the villagers one by one, and introduced in detail to the villagers' representatives the significance of building the drainage canal, the source of funds, the construction schedule and other matters.
Through a show of hands, the villagers' representatives finally reached an agreement not to compensate the parts that needed to be dredged and excavated, and sorted out a total of 38 places that needed to be dredged. Soon, construction of the drainage ditch began.
"On August 31, some villagers reported that the progress of the construction party in the process of entering the household was too slow, and the road surface was potholed, which affected everyone's travel." "At the end of September, 19 water-crossing culverts had been built, and the autumn harvest was approaching, waiting for the villagers to complete the harvesting of the grain crops at the bottom of the ditch before continuing the road leveling work." Xue Qiaohui's notebook records the progress of the project and the results of each deliberation.
"The contradictions and problems encountered by the masses may seem like 'small things', but if they are not handled properly, they will often intensify into major contradictions, which will not only affect neighborhood relations and village harmony, but also affect social stability." The reason why the contradictions and problems caused by these 'small things' are often 'magnified' and often 'intensified' is mainly because the villagers do not have a good channel to tell and solve things. Xue Qiaohui said.
Nowadays, in view of family conflicts, neighborhood disputes, mass demands, and other problems, the "rural night school" immediately "starts classes" to intervene in the solution, and the party branch of the New Village Comprehensive Management Center takes the initiative to participate in mediation, puts the contradictions on the table, explains things clearly, explains the policies clearly, explains the reason thoroughly, and nips all kinds of hidden dangers in the bud.
The affairs of the masses are no small matter. To do a good job of the masses, we must closely rely on the masses, let the masses speak out, let the masses participate, and let the masses make decisions, so that the masses can have a brighter heart.
"Now the villagers are very fond of walking into the village committee compound and into the night school, and the village is becoming more and more harmonious." Xue Qiaohui said.
In Jiaozhou City, the dispute mediation rate in villages that opened "rural night schools" increased from 35% to 85%, exploring a new path for strengthening and improving rural governance in the new era.
