As an authentic Shangri-La native, Teacher Baima Dorji has too much affection for this land, from veterinarians to TV program production, by chance, he got the opportunity to study at the Beijing Film Academy. In the process of filming the documentary, Teacher Baima Dorji found that it is a very valuable thing to build a bridge of cultural communication between Han and Tibet through television, so that the outside world can truly know Shangri-La and understand Tibetan culture.
Mr. Baima Dorjee, who considers himself an independent producer, has always considered himself a passerby, and television stations are not the future, especially after returning from France, he began to ask himself "Where is his value?" When belief contradicts reality, he tends to follow his heart.
Like most people working in Beijing, Teacher Baima Dorji was also a member of the "North Drift", from deciding to buy a house to purchasing decorative objects, this process can be said to have played a great role in the transformation of Teacher Baima. Especially when looking for Tibetan furniture in the vast city of Beijing, he found a lot of such decorations in a shop in Panjiayuan, one, two, three... After many pieces, Teacher Baima Dorji realized a serious problem, he simply did not have extra space to store these treasures.
Worried, Teacher Baima Dorji thought of the exquisite small hotels he saw in Paris when he attended the film festival in France, and thought of the courtyard of his hometown where he had lived, and it was perfectly appropriate to "house" these collections.

Do what you say you will do. In the Spring Festival of 2000, Teacher Baima Dorji demolished his "home" and began to build a hotel. Thanks to the environment in which he grew up as a child, Tibetan boys have more or less experience in architecture, and with his own experience in decoration in Beijing, he hired local carpenters to do design and construction together. In October 2010, Songtsam Green Valley opened for business, a hotel at the foot of Songzan Rinji Mountain and the first boutique hotel in the Songzan series. Nowadays, many of the furniture and furnishings we see in the hotel are collected by Teacher Baima Dorji when he was in Beijing.
17 years of the scene, Baima Dorjee presented us with the Songzan series of hotels around the layout of the Yunnan-Tibet line, from Lijiang to Lhasa, Songzan Green Valley, Songzan Linka, Songzan Benzilan, Songzan Meri, Songzan Cizhong, Songzan Pagoda City, Songzan Lijiang and songzan Lhasa under construction, each hotel carries his love for his hometown and Tibetan culture, rough stone walls, log decoration, old handicraft knocking out all the bronze ware of Songzan Hotel, as Teacher Baima Dorji said: "He hopes that all buildings are resistant to scrutiny. They are all warm and local, and they grow out of the history and nature of that place. ”

Referring to the origin of "Songzan", Baima teacher explained: "Songzan" and Songzanlin Temple are not related, our Songzan is the meaning of "Tushi Tian", the more intuitive understanding is the Pure Land of the Soul, including the hotel logo, a combination of eight-petal lotus flowers, integrated in the auspicious knot, the lotus alludes to the mandala, there is a meaning of mud and not stained, in fact, it refers to the essence of life is not polluted, the auspicious knot represents that all things in the universe and all sentient beings are in the cycle, there is no beginning, there is no end. Committed to providing a sense of happiness and "far away home" to guests, is the core value of Songzan.
Regarding the location of the hotel, Mr. Baima Dorji also has his own insistence, trying to choose a place that is not easy to be submerged and can be easily maintained. It was determined that each point should function as a travel destination, and that the hotel must be able to penetrate deep into the natural and cultural core of the area, and when walking around, it is not a crowd of people that can be seen, but a quiet, isolated environment.

As for transportation, Teacher Baima Dorji can even use "stubbornness" to describe it: I am not not to repair the traffic more conveniently, but I will not choose a place with convenient transportation at all, and the travel destination I choose must not be crowded. So, through the window of the hotel, we can hardly see other tourists, only the centuries-old Buddhist temple, the unattainable snow-capped mountains, the warm river valleys in the alpine region, the dry oases and the villages that smell of fireworks...

Considering the limit of the guests' acceptance of distance, the idea of doing the Songtsam Ring Line naturally came true. Just like this, from the Green Valley to The Benzilan, to Merry, to Cizhong, to Tacheng, and even to Lijiang Songzan, the distance between the two points is as far as possible to control about 3 hours, from the river valley to the snowy mountains, just like this along the "distant home", feel the most authentic and real Shangri-La.
