On January 18, Ding Guangquan, a cross-talk artist, educator, inheritor of Hou Pai cross-talk and a national first-class actor, died of lung cancer at Peking Union Medical College Hospital at the age of 73.

Ding Guangquan, a native of Chengde, Hebei Province, of Hui ethnicity, born on October 14, 1944, was a professional cross-talk actor of the China Coal Mine Literary and Labor Troupe, a member of the China Qu Artists Association, a director of the American Overseas Artists Association, a director of the China Coal Mine Literary Federation, and a director of the Chaoyang District Foreign Cultural Exchange Association. He once served as a cross-talk actor in the Military Cultural and Labor Troupe, a quyi instructor at the Xuanwu District Cultural Center in Beijing, a television director of the China Family Planning Association, and a cross-talk actor in the China Railway Cultural and Labor Troupe.

In 1964, Ding Guangquan graduated from beijing Muslim College with a junior college degree. In 1973, he officially visited Mr. Hou Baolin. In 1992, he took his disciple Lian Chunjian to the United States to give lectures and perform. In addition, he has written, directed and acted in thirteen episodes of the comedy "The Family Has a Difficult Scripture", which has been broadcast on foreign television stations in the United States, Canada and other countries, and has been welcomed by overseas Chinese.
