Remembering the martyrs and heroic souls! Kane Tate, a soldier of the New Zealand Volunteer Army of the International Corps who has been fighting for the Ukrainian army for a year, unfortunately died heroically on the front line of Bakhmut on March 21 at the age of 38! Kane Tate, a native New Zealand Māori, was famous a week before his death for rescuing an old comrade-in-arms from a Russian cellar who had been held for two months and nearly starved to death. He is the third New Zealand soldier to die in Ukraine, following Dominic Abelon, 28, who died in battle last January but whose body has not been found, and Andrew Bagshaw, 47, who was killed by Russian shelling in January while rescuing local children in a private house.
