Manchester United's back line is reportedly set to undergo major changes this summer – with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Raphael Varane all in danger of being sacked.
Harry Maguire has been one of United's best in-form players of recent times and is currently on the radar of West Ham United. The former Real Madrid star Raphael Varane has become increasingly unreliable amid injury-plagued campaigns, playing just 45 per cent of the time in 2023/24.
Neither Aaron Wan-Bissaka nor Victor Lindelof have been the top picks in their respective positions, and their position is likely to slip further in the summer as United seek reforms. Therefore, their future is up for debate.
Ratcliffe and INEOS' rebuilding efforts will revolve around their midfield woes, which seems to have been the case for years. Casemiro in 2022/23 seems to be long gone, while another midfielder over the age of 30, Christian Eriksen, has not performed to the level needed to be a regular at Old Trafford.
Casemiro looks to be past his prime, and although United have only been able to recoup a fraction of what they paid for him in the summer of 2022, his age and tired legs have become a worrying aspect of United's midfield structure this season, with everyone able to get past him with ease.
The fact that Eriksen is not a reliable figure makes his departure in the summer seem inevitable. Amrabat's temporary signing to make up for United's lack of midfield was undoubtedly a failure, with the former Fiorentina star clearly unable to keep up with the pace and intensity of the Premier League. He will return to Serie A in the summer and United will be hoping to have another midfielder join. Brazilian winger Antony is in a similar predicament, so United are prepared to reduce the loss of their £86million investment.
In addition, Marcus Rashford, the representative of Manchester United's own Academy, is also considered one of the most disappointing players of the season, having failed to repeat the glory of 2022/23. Rashford will be sold as one of the best-selling assets as long as the price is right, the report said.
Jadon Sancho, a winger on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund, may not be looking back. The former Old Trafford rising star has become an 'exile' after refusing to apologise to boss Ten Hag after an open clash and it now appears that years of chasing Jadon Sancho have gone down the drain.
Hopes were high for the 19-year-old when he first arrived at United years ago, but this season could be his last season in the shirt for United, confirming the claim that he will not be renewing his contract at the end of the season, so he will be a potential target in the market in the summer.
Ahead of this crucial summer, there are plenty of names in the Old Trafford dressing room that are safe, at least for now, according to the report. The stalwart of the squad, including Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Kobe Menou, captain Bruno Fernandez and Rasmus Hojlen, will remain with the team beyond the summer.
Defensive duo Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot and Alejandro Garnacho will also remain with the team. The same goes for Willy Cambuvara and summer 2023 signing Mason Mount, although the former Chelsea ace is widely believed to be United's worst signing this season.

A total of six replacements are already in place, and Erik ten Hag will have them in place at the back next season, or at least a few of them.
Everton's Jarrad Branswaite is seen as the future of England's centre-back and is one of the players United are chasing. The young England player has been in excellent form this season and is sure to get a lot of attention once the summer transfer window opens.
Another option at the heart of the backline could be Edmond Tapsoba, a member of the Bundesliga champions for the 23/24 season, and his team-mate Jeremy Frimpong at Bayer Leverkusen. The latter is from the Netherlands, which have been Ten Hag's foraging ground since arriving at Manchester United in the summer of 2022.
Back in the Premier League, United are eyeing the Wolves duo of Joao Gomes and Pedro Neto. At just 23 years old, Joao Gomez can provide a strong impetus next to Kobe Maynu, who is on the occasion this season.
His central team-mate Pedro Neto has also been on Liverpool's radar and could ease United's shortcomings on the wings. With 110 Premier League appearances and widely regarded as one of the best wingers in the Premier League, the Portuguese star would be a reliable option for United on the wing, especially given that the position has been a problem for Old Trafford for years.
If Neto's signing price is too expensive, United could risk bringing in Borussia Dortmund star Donyère Malen in the Bundesliga. The Netherlands international, who has made 30 appearances for his country, has played a part of his part under Edin Terzic this season and could reach some sort of swap deal with the aforementioned Sancho to keep costs down. Still, United will face stiff competition after Arsenal recently sent scouts to observe the Dutchman.
