Xinhua
Known as "solid reservoirs", glaciers account for about two-thirds of the world's total freshwater resources. Sanjiangyuan is located in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and southwest of Qinghai Province, and is the source of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Lancang River. The water system here is developed, the river network is dense, and the water resources are large. Numerous snow-capped mountain glaciers have played a huge role in stabilizing the hydrological situation at the source of rivers. In recent years, Qinghai Province has strengthened the protection of snow mountain glaciers and maintained the function of "solid reservoir" of snow mountain glacier frozen soil.
