On the occasion of the 29th World Book Day, recently, the 2024 "4.23" World Book Day and Public Library Service Publicity Week, sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Lishu County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and the County Bureau of Culture, Radio and Tourism, and undertaken by the County Library, was held in the Cultural Square in front of the library.
At 9 o'clock in the morning, the Cultural Square was lively, and many readers were already waiting in front of the library. At the beginning of the event, the relevant comrades of the Propaganda Department and the Bureau of Culture, Radio, and Tourism presented books to the readers on the spot, and the staff sent readers brochures, applied for readers' cards for free, and sent publicity color pages of the Public Library Law to answer readers' inquiries. The atmosphere was very lively.
It is understood that during the public library service publicity week, the library also carried out activities such as the "Scholarly Pear City" national reading achievement display and the practice of youth red education.
The purpose of this activity is to advocate reading for all, protect the basic cultural rights and interests of the people, further improve the service capacity and service level of public libraries, enhance the satisfaction and participation of the masses, and realize the construction of a people-centered modern library.
