This performance has a special significance for Liu Jiayu, a viola player in the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Liu Jiayu's grandfather was Liu Jinshan, one of the "22 Warriors Who Flew to Seize Luding Bridge". Influenced by her grandfather, Liu Jiayu had a deeper understanding of the Long March. On March 1, Liu Jiayu said in an exclusive interview with a Beiqing-Beijing headline reporter: "If Grandpa is still here, he will definitely have a lot of feelings about this "Long March Symphony". ”
Bethune personally helped grandpa with "sheep intestine" surgery
Liu Jinshan was born in 1908, a native of Ganzhou, Jiangxi, and was an orphan. Liu Jiayu introduced, "When the troops passed through my grandfather's hometown, he followed the troops in order to eat enough food. That is, from the very beginning of the Long March to the end of the Long March, Grandpa has experienced the whole process. ”
The capture of Luding Bridge was an important battle in the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Although Liu Jinshan is one of the famous "22 Warriors who flew to seize Luding Bridge", he rarely mentions this history of his family. Liu Jiayu said: "When my grandfather took a nap, he would often suddenly get angry and violent, throw his hands wildly in the air, wake up and find that he was having a nightmare, and my grandmother said that my grandfather dreamed of Japanese people again. But Grandpa didn't actually tell me about the Luding Bridge, he just told me that fighting with the Japanese was terrible. ”
As Liu Jinshan's granddaughter, Liu Jiayu still learned from other sources about her grandfather's encounters in the war. "Once, my grandfather was seriously wounded in the course of fighting the Japanese, and his stomach was also cut by a bayonet, and his intestines flowed out, and he was still directing the battle with his intestines in tow. After the battle, Grandpa was sent to Wutai Mountain to recuperate, and after the intestines were broken, they could not be connected, the wounds were also suppurated, and it was dangerous for the high fever to not recede. Dr. Bethune's traveling medical team was passing through this place, and after hearing about his condition, Dr. Bethune personally operated on him. At that time, the medical conditions were extremely poor, so he killed a sheep and used the intestines of the sheep to connect his grandfather's broken intestines to get out of danger. So there is a section of intestine in his body that is a sheep intestine. ”
Strict requirements for future generations Attach importance to learning and cultivating a skill
Due to the perennial war, Liu Jinshan's education level is not high, but he is very strict about the education of his descendants, and he himself is also studying very hard.
When Liu Jiayu was a child, she fixed her weekly visit to her grandfather's house, and in her impression, her grandfather had to read the newspaper every day, and there was a Xinhua dictionary next to the newspaper, and there was a magnifying glass next to it. "I read the newspaper with my grandfather in the afternoon, and then after dinner, I had to watch the 7:00 news broadcast. Later, my grandfather got cataracts and couldn't see it, so he asked our juniors to read it to him. ”
Not only are they strict with themselves, Liu Jinshan is also very strict with the education of his descendants, requiring them to be down-to-earth and sincere in their work from an early age. "It is very important for grandpa to learn a good skill, so the people in our family who do not have a particularly rich business are basically taking the technical route."
Liu Jinshan died in 1999, when Liu Jiayu was only 14 years old. "In fact, when I was a child, I also won an award in Suzhou, but the "Long March Symphony" was never played to my grandfather. There are 5 movements in this work, and the expression of each movement is different, and my personal favorite is that the fourth movement is the 'over the meadow' section, which the composer uses a bit of French Impressionist technique to write, which is very graphic. ”
Liu Jiayu still remembers that when her grandfather was alive, she mentioned the experience of "crossing the snow mountain", "Because it was June, everyone was dressed thinly, when Grandpa was very close to Maotai Town, so many comrades-in-arms drank Moutai to warm their bodies and went to the battlefield, many comrades fell asleep after falling in the snow, and many comrades-in-arms died at that time." Grandpa's narration also gave Liu Jiayu a very intuitive impression of the war, which made her full of emotions when she played the "Long March Symphony", and she was also very touched: "This movement is very well written, and when the cold wind blows past, it is like a knife cutting." When all this is over, it seems that the sun is coming out again. ”
Talking about the performance at this concert, Liu Jiayu said: "This is the third time I have played the Long March Symphony. Our performance was great, and the audience's emotions on the scene were also brought up by us. I'm very proud to be able to turn in such a track. If Grandpa could hear this work, he would definitely have more feelings. ”
