In 1947, Zhu Bingqian entered the Beijing Siwei Children's Drama School, where he studied under Xiao Changhua, Lei Xifu, Guan Dayuan, An Shuyuan, Bai Jialin, Li Jilai, Liu Zhongqiu, Xing Weiming, etc., and was instructed by Li Zigui, the first generation director of Chinese opera.
In September 1962, Zhu Bingqian studied under the famous Peking Opera master Mr. Ma Lianliang, specializing in Ma Pai, and learned dramas such as "Orphans of Zhao" and "Huaihe Camp". He graduated in 1956 and starred in the Experimental Peking Opera Troupe of the China Opera School.
Since 1965, Zhu Bingqian has successively performed plays such as "Mu Guiying vs Hongzhou", "The Orphan of Zhao", "Four Soldiers", "Qunying Society", "General Xianghe", "Qionglin Feast", "Trial Head Thorn Soup", "Eight Sledgehammers", "Huaihe Camp", "Pirate Scrolls", "Removal of Three Harms", "Wulongyuan", "Ganlu Temple" and so on.
Zhu Bingqian has a deep foundation, is good at singing, reading, doing and playing, can edit, direct, and act, and has many talents. He sorted out and adapted plays such as "Four Soldiers", "Han Palace Horror", "Trial Head Thorn Soup", "Qin Xianglian", "White Emperor City", "Blue Blood Yangzhou", "Xinghan Tu", "Linjiang Yi Xiaoxiang Autumn Rain" and so on. Among them, the adaptation of "Horror of the Han Palace" has shown a new look for the traditional drama "Playing gold bricks".
Zhu Bingqian has been engaged in teaching work since his retirement, and the students include: Zhang Jianguo, Li Wenlin, Yan Shiqi, He Shu, Dong Deguang, Zhang Sigang, Huang Bingqiang, Yin Zhangxu, Wang Peiyu, Zhang Jianfeng, Fu Xiru, Li Jian, Yang Miao, Jia Jinsong, Zhang Kai, Li Xiaoyang, Huang Jia, Ma Lei, Sha Hao and other young and middle-aged actors who are active on the front-line stage, cultivating a batch of outstanding talents for Peking Opera art.
