GreenBerets, officially known as Special Forces, was formerly known as Task Force 1, which was established on July 9, 1942, but was disbanded on August 15, 1944.

After the outbreak of the Korean War, the commandos resumed. On June 20, 1952, the 10th Special Force, the predecessor of today's Green Berets, was formed.

After Kennedy became the President of the United States, he attached great importance to the construction of special forces and used the green beret as the special uniform of this force, and since then it has been called the green beret force.

The tasks of this special forces force are extensive, including unconventional warfare, such as infiltration, sabotage and guerrilla warfare; Direct action, such as surprise attacks, rescues, etc.; Of course, it is also indispensable to carry out special reconnaissance missions.

The establishment system of the Green Berets consists of a headquarters, support squadron, access and maintenance squadron, and several combat groups, the core of which is the combat group.

There are now 5 brigades, namely:

1st Special Forces Group (Airborne)

Specialized in East Asia and the Pacific, including a detachment base in Seoul, South Korea, where many Asian languages are spoken.

3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne)

The base is located at Fort Bragg. Subordinate to the European Command. Combat missions are primarily aimed at the African continent. Another battalion is used to support the operational mission of Central Command in the Middle East.

5th Special Forces Group (Airborne)

One of the Special Forces Group (Airborne) surviving the Vietnam War, which was deployed to Egypt in the early 1980s during Operation Shining Star, is now dedicated to operations in the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia. Special Forces Group 5 (Airborne) was sent to Saudi Arabia to operate within Kuwait and Iraq at the beginning of Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

7th Special Forces Group (Airborne)

In operations in Central and South America, the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) supported Kanchas in Nicaragua and trained Honduran and Salvadoran troops. The base of one battalion in the group is located in Panama.

10th Special Forces Group (Airborne)

The original mandate of this unit was for the Warsaw Pact Member States. Its World War II battlefield was in Africa. The 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) has worked in countries such as Egypt, Sudan and South Africa.

Green beret members generally have to learn the language spoken in the region to which they are assigned, and it is common for each member to speak two or three languages. Because this skill is very necessary when conducting special infiltration operations.

In previous combat operations, the role of the Green Berets was difficult to replace. From the fifties to the sixties, the 5th Special Forces Group played a leading role in the Vietnam War.

In December 1989, when the United States invaded Panama, the 7th Special Forces Group seized the road bridge over the Pacora River and engaged in a fierce gun battle with the Panamanian Defense Forces as the offensive began. Although outnumbered by the other side, they managed to prevent Panamanian Defense Forces reinforcements from attacking the Uinsatzgruppen with no casualties.

During the Gulf War, green berets were assigned to battalion units of the multinational force, providing them with the necessary training and critical communications to organize and coordinate tactical operations. It turned out to play a special role in the later "Desert Shield" and "Desert Storm" operations.
