Affected by heavy rainfall and upstream water, the water level of the east branch of the Lotus Pond River outside the embankment has been more than half a month, and Zeng Jieyi carefully advised: "The levee has been soaked by water for a long time, and it is easy to scatter and lead to collapse, so it is necessary to carefully inspect." ”

Zeng Jieyi, 35, is the director of the command center of the Chenzhou detachment of the provincial fire brigade. In the past 17 years since joining the team, he has participated in more than 1,500 fire fighting and rescue missions, successfully rescued more than 400 people in distress, and successively won the titles of "National Excellent People's Police", "National Upward Good Youth" and "National Top Ten Outstanding Fire Guards".

Pioneer model who dares to fight a hard battle

In early July, the flood was raging, the Yangtze River was in a hurry, and Jiangxi was in a hurry!

On July 13, according to the order of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Hunan Fire Brigade urgently allocated forces and equipment to rush to Jiangxi overnight. Zeng Jieyi, who has two young children, is not in the first echelon list. "Let me go, I'm a party member!" Zeng Jieyi, who had just completed the Huaihua flood prevention and rescue mission and was preparing to change his defense, took the initiative to ask for help and join the battle.

That night, Zeng Jieyi led 56 commanders and fighters of the Chenzhou detachment to drive from Huaihuahui to Jiangxi overnight. The starry night journey was more than 1,000 kilometers, and at 6 a.m. the next day, Zeng Jieyi and the team members arrived at the meeting point in Madang Town, Pengze County. "The driver must rest, the rest of the team members must seize the rest, and the party members will follow me!" Putting down his backpack, he led a party-member commando team of 15 commanders and fighters and quickly threw himself into the rescue.

Flood fighting is a physical battle, but also a scientific and technological war. Zeng Jieyi quickly commanded the team members to erect the "black technology" brought to the embankment- a sand and gravel bagging module car, and together with the local people to build the sub-embankment of the Yangtze River embankment. The water outside the embankment churns, and the inside of the embankment is in full swing. With the blessing of the anti-flood "artifact" of 900 bags per hour, in 13 hours, the commandos loaded and transported more than 10,000 sandbags and about 70 tons of earth, laying a solid material foundation for building the second line of defense of the High Yangtze River.

"One patient in Changfeng Village has been trapped at home for four or five days." On the morning of July 18, some villagers sent for help, and Zeng Jieyi immediately led the team to the rescue.

Yu Shixiu, 54, lives alone in a small two-story building. When Zeng Jieyi arrived, the flood had already flooded the gate and could only enter and exit through the small window on the wall. Due to the damage to The lumbar spine of Sister Yu, she could not bend down and could only stand or lie flat. The storm boat cannot be fixed in the water, and it shakes back and forth with the current, seriously affecting the transfer of patients.

Combined with years of rescue experience, Zeng Jieyi had an idea: to use power to launch two rubber boats to resist the side of the storm boat, so that it can be firmly against the wall and facilitate the rescue. After stabilizing the assault boat, Zeng Jieyi took the lead and climbed in, and found a door panel to carry Sister Yu out. The entire rescue process takes no more than 10 minutes.

Training elites who strive for excellence

Zeng Jieyi grew up listening to the sirens of the fire brigade next door, and the ideal seed was planted. In 2003, at the age of 18, he finally put on the "fire orange" he dreamed of.

In the fire brigade, the training ground is the place where Zeng Jieyi goes most frequently. He always said: "Training is the ability to race against time, only by sweating more on the training ground can there be less bloodshed in actual combat." ”

As soon as he got on the training ground, he had endless strength and unlimited passion to constantly break through himself. Some training items are not well mastered, so he will exercise himself, seriously study the movement procedures, innovate methods again and again, and practice over and over again until he is satisfied.

In the 2012 provincial construction of a modern firefighting iron army athletics competition and grassroots commander competition, the original 27-year-old Zeng Jieyi had no advantage in age and physical strength, but he self-pressurized to carry out "devil-style" training. The palm of the hand is worn, plastered and continues to practice; the ankle is injured, tie a bandage to continue practicing; the knee is swollen, the needle is closed to continue practicing... Just by pulling the ladder alone, he has to practice more than 200 times a day, and the intensity of training is unbearable for ordinary people. In the end, the 27-year-old Zeng Jieyi won 6 individual first places in that competition and set a new record for the provincial ladder project with a time of 6.83 seconds.

"There are more than 7,000 pieces of equipment in the team, whether it is domestic or imported, no Zeng Jieyi will not use." Yang Zhi, head of the quartermaster equipment section of the Chenzhou Fire Brigade, admired this "good partner". But what he didn't know was that in order to gnaw down these "hard bones", Zeng Jieyi always took the initiative to contact the manufacturer to find a master, go to the school to consult a professional translation teacher, check the words against the dictionary, one by one, and memorize the performance of various equipment.

Fearless warriors charging ahead

Firefighters save people between water and fire, and they will face the test of life and death at any time. Zeng Jieyi always charged forward and dared to take the lead.

When he participated in the Wenchuan earthquake rescue in 2008, he and his comrades fought for 10 consecutive days and nights, slept only 5 hours a day, marched an average of 20 kilometers a day with weight, worn dozens of pairs of gloves, and both shoulders and knees were all bruised, and finally successfully rescued and transferred hundreds of people.

In January 2010, two migrant workers were trapped on a 35-meter-high tower crane. Zeng Jieyi stepped on a 10-centimeter-wide steel beam to "walk a tightrope" at a high altitude, and after more than 3 hours of rescue, successfully delivered the trapped migrant workers to the ground safely.

In November 2017, a tank truck full of 23 tons of liquefied petroleum gas in Yingchun Town, Yizhang County, overturned and caught fire, potentially exploding at any time. Zeng Jieyi took the lead in carrying a high-pressure water gun and rushed into the smoke-filled fire. After 12 hours of continuous fighting, the dangerous situation was successfully handled, and there were no casualties among the surrounding masses, but Zeng Jieyi sat on the side of the road, so tired that he could not even speak.

Born in the light of the fire, never flinched before danger, never gave up a glimmer of hope, and saved every life as much as possible, this is Zeng Jieyi's original intention and mission.

In an urban road traffic accident, the driver's legs were tightly stuck by heavy objects, a large amount of blood loss, life in danger, the scene rescue doctor recommended sawing off the calf, to save his life. After carefully inspecting the scene, Zeng Jieyi made a judgment: he was sure to safely remove the oppressor.

In just 20 minutes, Zeng Jieyi calmly and calmly used hydraulic expansion appliances and support top rods to remove the heavy objects pressed on the driver's legs, and the driver not only saved his life, but also saved his legs. After the driver was discharged from the hospital, he rushed to the fire brigade to thank him: "Thank you, you are my benefactor!"
