My favorite fairy tales: "Here Comes Gollum" and "The Three Little Pigs"

Friends who have listened to Professor Li Kefu's psychological lectures will sigh that it is good and practical, and the fairy tale that is often said is "Gollum is Coming".

The superficial meaning of this story is very simple, saying that a rabbit was frightened by the sound of grunting during his lunch break, shouting at his companions to run away, and finally a clever rabbit said to go back to see what gollum was, which turned out to be the sound of ripe papaya falling into the lake.

This story was suddenly remembered by Teacher Li consulting phobia patients, who thought that it was very vivid to explain the root of fear and anxiety, that is, the more they did not dare to face the more they escaped, the more serious it was, and the countermeasure was to return to the original point and understand the meta-problem of "what is".

This is the charm of the story, like the dream of the night landscape, with a superficial meaning and a deeper meaning, of course, this is the result of the creation and manipulation of consciousness.

Gollum came to this story and reminded me of hearing a similar story in a MOOC, which can be called "watermelon ripe". It is said that there is a peasant in a remote place, and suddenly finds that a monster grows in the ground, round, bulging, black and white, everyone has never seen it, scared to get close, very frightened. A traveler knew, wanted to eliminate everyone's fear, first with people to watch from a distance, and then slowly approached, and finally touched the monster one by one, the traveler also proposed to cut it open, cut into pieces of red urn, taste a bite, sweet and very delicious, so everyone's sense of fear was eliminated, and finally named this monster watermelon.

The hidden meaning of the story is not difficult to know, what we fear is not the thing itself, but our insecurity and uncontrollable sense of things, and the countermeasure is to face it and not to escape.

The above two fairy tales reveal the solution to psychological confusion.

My favorite fairy tales: "Here Comes Gollum" and "The Three Little Pigs"

One of my favorite fairy tales is "Three Little Pigs".

The three little pigs grew up, and the mother pig let them live alone, and told the big bad wolf nearby to build a house to protect themselves. As a result, the big black pig built a grass house and began to play happily, and the two-flower pig also went to play after building a wooden shed, only the pig brother seriously built a brick house to ensure safety. Later, the big bad wolf appeared, overthrew the big black pig grass house, kicked the two-flower pig wood house, and the three little pigs hid in the solid brick house of the pig brother, and finally burned the big bad wolf who climbed in from the chimney with hot water.

The ostensible meaning of this story is not to be lazy and work well, and to build a strong house to ensure safety.

From a psychological point of view, the "three little pigs" are stories that show the importance of the need for security. It is not difficult to understand that the need for security is the lowest level of need in addition to physical needs, below the need for belonging and respect.

For example, the experience of learning to drive is to brake before driving, because it is safe and controllable to dare to drive. The same is true of high-altitude play projects, and we dare to play because we believe in safety and reliability.

The counterexample is that without a sense of security, you dare not drive, swim, experience high altitude, restlessness, fidgeting, weakening social function, and even serious psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety and fear.

The sense of security is so important, reflecting the law of survival, that is, mr. survival and development, the sense of security is similar to the foundation of the building, and the foundation is shaking unsteadily.

This is presented in thinking as bottom-line thinking, that is, predicting and accepting the worst-case scenario, and doing this is experiencing a sense of security.

The pig brother in the story seems to have a lack of security, showing timidity, clumsiness, honesty, and can't play, but it is precisely because he admits that he is afraid of the big black wolf and afraid of these dangers, so that the stupid bird will fly first, honestly build a strong house, and ensure that the worst situation can be safe.

The question arises: Is a person who admits to being stupid really stupid? Is a person who speaks out and is afraid of fear really afraid of fear? Is a person who says he is insecure really insecure?

Bottom-line thinking is to accept the worst situation, the essence is to enhance the sense of security, so as to solve the problem of emotional loss of control, stabilize emotions, so that there is psychological energy to solve the problem rationally.

Can show weakness, admit stupidity, poor prediction, just like Lao Tzu said, "soft is better than strong."
