Reeds, trees, birds, fish and crab fat. In Qilihai Town, Ninghe District, Tianjin in the golden autumn, the golden rice paddies roll in waves and flocks of migratory birds fly up and down, unfolding a beautiful picture of industrial and ecological integration and development.

Qilihai Town has a unique geographical location and is the "hometown of fish and rice" in the North China Plain. In 2017, the Qilihai river crab became a national geographical indication product of China. Relying on this brand, Qilihai Town organized the establishment of a rice crab three-dimensional breeding cooperative to breed high-quality river crab seedlings, and reached a cooperation agreement with some river crab breeding and rice growers in Ninghe District to establish an organic green rice seedling and adult crab three-dimensional breeding demonstration base to promote three-dimensional ecological polyculture of rice crabs. In 2021, the polyculture area of rice crabs in Ninghe District will exceed 200,000 mu, and it is expected to produce 6 million jin of river crabs per year, which can increase the income by 500 to 800 yuan per mu.

As an international student from Ukraine, the ecological beauty and happy life of Qilihai Town make Bu Ailin linger when she first arrived here. Here, she met Du Naihe, who moved out of the Seven Caspian Sea Wetland to start a business again in order to protect the ecology, and also met Jia Xin, a post-80s young man who returned from studying abroad and was bent on contributing to his hometown. From them, Bu Ailin felt the "greatness of the ordinary" of Chinese farmers. "The most memorable thing is the well-off life that Chinese farmers have personally experienced," she said. "Thriving industry and beautiful ecology are the development goals of Qilihai Town." Every autumn, in the Seven Caspian Sea wetlands and farmers' rice paddies, a flock of migratory birds come here to roost. Here, the number of migratory birds in transit exceeds 400,000 every year, and rare birds such as oriental white storks and white spoonbills can often be seen, and people and migratory birds present a beautiful picture of harmonious coexistence.

Relying on the resources of the Seven Caspian Sea wetlands and combined with the promotion and implementation of high-tech agriculture, the towns around the Seven Caspian Seas have realized the organic integration of rural revitalization and wetland protection. Every seemingly simple Chinese farmer makes his life better and better through their industrious hands. The development of the Ninghe River has also become more and more beautiful with the joint efforts of groups of new and old Ninghe people.
