On May 2, 2020, in Pingtan, Fujian Province, tourists watched "blue tears" at the beach. "Blue Tears" under the lapping of the waves, constantly appear fluorescent blue dots, the entire coastline like the planet Pandora.
"Blue Tears" is produced by the glow of the Heath's curved-throated sea fireflies. The Sea Firefly, referred to as the Sea Firefly, is a mesomorphic insect. It is a plankton living in a bay with a structure of luminous glands in its body.
Stimulated by the lapping of the waves, the Heath's Curved Throat Sea Fireflies emit a light blue light. When a large number of Heath's curved-throated sea fireflies converge, a fluorescent blue ocean is formed.
Under the lapping of the waves, the "blue tears" are like the stars in the sky falling on the sea, and the long coastline turns into a crystal blue, making people feel as if they are in the wonderful world of "Avatar".
It is reported that April and May are the high incidence of "blue tears", during which time there may be high-brightness blue tears erupting for several consecutive days.
