Behind the slate house is the island's largest Lanokau crater, it is round, about 1.5 kilometers in diameter, more than 200 meters deep, the inner side is vertically steep, overgrown with weeds, the outside is bordered by the sea, perennial rain and strong wind erosion, the cliff top even cracked a large opening. The crater is home to fresh water, covered with vigorous reeds, tall and sturdy, known locally as drag and pull, and a rare variety that can be used not only to build ships and build houses, but also to weave a variety of daily necessities, and is one of the important plants on the island. Leaving the crater and heading towards the parking lot, pedestrians, on one side is the original birdman village, on the other side is the geologically peculiar volcanic crater, ancient culture and natural landscape blend with each other. The trails are undulating, the wilderness is verdant, and the common volcanic rocks are piled up on the side of the road, scattered everywhere, buried in the dirt, like the rockeries of natural bonsai, dotted on the earth. From high above, the town of Hanga Roa offers sweeping views of the airport runway, bay piers, shaded neighbourhoods and volcanic mounds towering above the ground.
