I was interested in the fashion design profession in the first year of junior high school, I was more concerned and liked to put clothes on myself, I felt that everyone on the market can buy clothes, if you can design and make your own, it is a unique dress of your own! That's one of the reasons I think this profession is interesting.
Then I decided to study fashion design abroad when I was in the sixth grade, and after graduation, my parents helped me find an international school and felt that the atmosphere of studying art abroad would be better.

In my spare time, I like to go to Instagram and YouTube to watch some brand launches and fashion catwalks, and I also go to some fashion brands to do some internships and volunteers. Usually, I also do some styling and shooting creations.

If I choose a school, I think two aspects are very important, the first is to choose a school with the same level as my own level, so that I can get an OFFER with insurance; The second point is also to see what school you like; The third is to understand the foreign school and geographical environment in advance, the campus teachers and the internship experience and job provision.

The scope of my application is very broad! Because many students may only focus on the portfolio and ignore some extracurricular practical activities.
The second most important point is the multifaceted nature of the portfolio! I think a good art student can't just try out his or her own familiar areas of expertise, but we should also cover other majors.
For example, I studied fashion design, but my portfolio includes photography, installation, ceramics, glass installations and other projects, which are also in the field of art.
My portfolio consists of three costume projects, a RISD challenge, a Parsons challenge, a photography project, a ceramic project, and a glass project.
The inspiration for this project came from one of my favorite violinists, Paganini, whose wife was not recorded in our lifetime, but only about a guitarist lover. So in this project I imagined the image of Paganini's lover.
I investigated the dress of violinists and women's clothing in European countries from the 16th to the 18th centuries, and combined the two in the design of clothing.
The inspiration for this project also came from an experience I had drinking Chinese medicine since I was a child. In this project, I mainly studied the design of fabrics, but also studied and investigated the chinese grass and wood dyeing and changed the medium of grass and wood dyeing to the Chinese herbal medicines we usually drink, such as turmeric, wormwood, gardenia, onion peel, etc., and I not only tried simple coloring, but also studied the batik and tie-dyeing process.
In the design of the fabric, I used the acupuncture points studied by the ancients and tie-dye to combine, and in the process of tie-dyeing, I used the trend of human acupuncture points to connect and dye and finally the pattern made was also exclusive to the acupuncture points.
I also investigated two of the most important treatments in TCM: gua sha and cupping, and used the batik process to combine them. Wax is used in the process of batik to simulate the traces caused by gua sha and cupping. All the colors and textures of the dyeing were also applied to the final garment.
This project was inspired by one of my favorite Japanese pure love movies, The Drowning Knife. I also recommend that you watch this movie, the color of the whole movie and the soundtrack are super good. In the project, I also extracted many elements from the film to combine.
This year's RISD challenge has three sets of words, and I chose THE GROUP OF COMPOSITE/CONTRADICTION.
I did an installation art, and I chose the first project about the violin to derive, and I wanted to express that the violin is not as glamorous as you see. After all, I have been studying violin for 8 years, and I have received a lot of pressure and scars in the process of practicing.
So I used a plaster bandage to pour film on my hands and assembled it using a violin case that I had used during my practice. In order to reflect the brilliance of the violinist's performance, I also specially purchased a lot of more fancy fabrics to combine and overlap to make rich and luxurious performance clothes, which is also in stark contrast to the violinist's scarred hands.
This project is about young people thinking about their relationship with society. At this age, instead of abandoning the innocence and purity of childhood, they are forced to accept the influence from society, which makes them ambivalent.
In this project, I use lilies to symbolize their youthful innocence, hemp rope to create a sense of bondage, and the overall tone of black and white to reflect this contradictory and oppressive atmosphere.

My Timeline is: high school preparation for extracurricular activities, AP exams, on-campus GPA, portfolio Research, and language scores; In the second year of high school, he began to carry out the comprehensive production of the portfolio, professional study and preparation of the essay.
