August 12 is World Elephant Day, under the guidance of the Department of Wildlife Conservation of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Yunnan Province, the China Wildlife Conservation Association, the Asian Elephant Research Center of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, together with the Wild Elephant Valley of Yuntou Golden Peacock Tourism Group and Asian Elephant Conservation Volunteers, jointly held the 2022 "8.12 World Elephant Day" series of publicity activities.
After the spectacular opening ceremony, the 16 elephants of the Elephant School paraded along the main road of the event venue, and the baby elephants lined up neatly, with their noses and tails, domineering and gracefully walking towards the fruit feast, which lined up in turn to enjoy the fruit feast carefully prepared for them by the staff.
Although it was raining lightly, tourists had already surrounded the place on three floors inside and out. Under the guidance and protection of the staff, the elephants were fed and interacted with their favorite fruits and vegetables to learn about the feeding and feeding process of Asian elephants.
The 4th Asian Elephant Conservation Photography Exhibition also shined at the event, with more than 30 outstanding works selected from many outstanding works through online solicitation, voting and expert selection, and exhibited at the event site. The photos capture the wonderful moments of the various living conditions of Asian elephants, attracting tourists to stop and watch. Through the display of Asian elephant conservation photographic works, the public can understand the status of Asian elephants through photos and convey the positive energy of protecting wild animals.

"Elephant Daddy" and volunteers also held a birthday party for the baby elephant sheep who is seven years old, and the baby elephant sheep girl also enjoyed the "birthday cake" prepared by "Elephant Daddy" with her friends.
In the burst of applause and cheers, the little birthday star sheep lady accompanied by "Elephant Daddy" to the birthday party site, "Elephant Daddy" prepared a "birthday cake" composed of more than a dozen delicious fruits and vegetables such as carrots, bananas, apples, dragon fruits, etc. for the little birthday star sheep, and the elephants who attended the birthday party together ate happily.
Chen Jiming, the "elephant father" who specializes in taking care of the sheep girl, told reporters that the park set the day of the rescue of the sheep girl as the birthday of the sheep girl, and from August 12, 2015 to today, the little elephant sheep girl has been seven years old. At the birthday party, she not only shared a special fruit cake with the rescue elephant friends, but also received blessings from the sheep girl fan group.
It is understood that since 2016, wild elephant valley has held "World Elephant Day" public welfare activities, aiming to promote more people to further understand and understand the survival status of wild Asian elephants, as well as the achievements of the mainland in scientific research, rescue and breeding of wild Asian elephants, further consolidate the achievements of China's wild Asian elephant conservation, and promote the scientific protection of Asian elephants and the harmony of human elephants.
