On August 10, at the Tangzam Railway Memorial Park in the Qionggui district of Zambia's Lusaka Province, Zambia's President Chichlema (front right) laid a wreath to Chinese personnel who died in projects such as the construction of the Tanzan Railway.
Zambian President Chichlema said at the opening ceremony of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Memorial Park on the 10th that the Zambian government will be committed to revitalizing the Tanzania-Zambia Railway and making it an important transport channel for Zambia to the outside world.
In order to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who died in aiding the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway and other Sino-Zambia cooperation projects, to remember the great history of the Chinese and African people sharing weal and woe and struggling side by side, and to carry forward the spirit of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway, the Chinese and Zambia governments decided to jointly build the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Memorial Park. There is a martyrs' cemetery in the memorial park, where 36 Chinese personnel who died in the construction of zambia are buried.
