Uruguay's 22-year-old striker Darwin Nunez has officially joined Liverpool, becoming the Reds' first major signing this summer and the best response to the old rival Manchester City's purchase of Haaland. Liverpool's Echo described Klopp as turning Nunez into the new Lewandowski and allowing the Reds forward line to evolve again.
Liverpool announced last night local time that they have signed a long contract with Núñez and the Uruguayan striker will wear the number 27 shirt. Liverpool had earlier struck an agreement with Benfica to set a transfer fee of £64.1 million (€75 million), a potential additional £12.8 million (€15 million) to the terms of the number of appearances, and a potential prize fund of £8.5 million (€10 million) for a team to win the championship, with a total value of up to £85.4 million (€100 million).
