Seeing the title of the national character, some people may think that this is organized by the Central People's Radio, but it is not. Founded in 1993 by Beijing Music Radio, it is the mainland's oldest, most authoritative and credible Chinese pop music chart – at least in the 1990s.
The era when this chart was created coincided with the era when mainland pop music received attention and gradually began to prosper. Of course, at that time, the mainland music scene continued to be strongly impacted by Hong Kong and Taiwan music, but it is undeniable that after all, a number of outstanding musicians, including singers, began to appear in the mainland, which in turn also brought a large number of excellent musical works.
