On June 26, 2021, local time in Thyon, Switzerland, local herders led cattle to the highlands to spend the summer, and this annual seasonal migration has formed a local custom. Herders are graded according to their fighting ability, which is untrained or prepared but inherently aggressive. Unlike bulls, cows simply push each other with their bodies, so they rarely cause harm. Each cow wears a traditional cow-necked bell that makes a bell sound as they fight. The final winner is awarded a large, ornately decorated bell to show its status.
