On May 13, a 47-year-old major of the Israeli "Yaman Counter-Terrorism Force", Major Noam Raz, was killed in a clash between Jenin and Palestinian gunmen.

It is reported that when the "anti-terrorist forces" completed their task of suppressing the riots and began to leave the village, they were shot from the back by Palestinian gunmen. Major Noam Raz was injured after nearly four hours of continuous firefights with Palestinian gunmen, and he was immediately taken by helicopter to Lambam Hospital in Haifa for treatment, where he died of his wounds.

Originally from the Israeli community of Kida, Major Noam Raz enlisted in the army in 1999 and served for 23 years with the Yaman Counter-Terrorism Force, where he has participated in hundreds of counter-terrorism operations as a combatant, paramedic and sniper.
