Another "double champion"! Homer won the 2-stroke title to reach 6th in the Presidents Cup U.S. standings

The 2022 Wells Fargo Championship ended four rounds at the TPC Potomac, with 31-year-old American Max Homa holding steady in the final round and finally crowning himself the winner of the event for the second time with a 2-stroke advantage.

The final title battle for the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship unfolds between Kiegan Bradley and Max Homa. Homa opened the final round two strokes behind 54-hole leader Bradley, who started with a birdie on the difficult 1st hole, narrowing the gap to the top of the table.

Bradley, on the other hand, was out of the way, dropping off on No. 2 and dropping into a fairway bunker, hitting the green with 5 strokes and eventually swallowing a double bogey, which cost him the lead. Bradley didn't give up, though, and after dropping the bar on Both 2 and 4, he caught birdies on 5, 7 and 8 and returned to top the table.

After the transfer, the competition between Homa and Bradley entered the most critical stage. Homa took the lead in catching a bird on the 10th hole to overtake Bradley again, and Bradley swallowed the double bogey again on the 11th hole, and the gap between the two was also widened to 3.

Homer swallowed a bogey on No. 13 and then advanced a 12-foot bird push on No. 15, while Bradley caught a bird on No. 14 and swallowed a bogey on No. 15. With just three holes left in the lead, Homa still had a three-stroke advantage.

However, the game did not lose suspense, and on the next 16th hole, Homa kicked off to the left, swallowed a bogey after three greens, and Bradley caught a birdie on this hole, and the gap between the two instantly narrowed to 1.

Taking a one-shot lead to the closing hole, Homa secured his battery on the 18th hole, while Bradley's kick-off fell into the fairway bunker again and eventually swallowed a bogey, which left him out of his fifth PGA Tour victory, tied for second place with Cameron Young and Matthew Fitzpatrick.

Max Homa won his fourth PGA Tour title by 2 strokes, and since he had already won the Season Opener Flying Tower Championship last September, Homer also joined Scotty Schaeffler, Sam Boones, Hideki Matsuyama and Cameron Smith as one of the multiple winners of the season.

"Super rookie" Cameron Young delivered 6 birds, 2 bogeys and 66 strokes in the final round, with a total of -6, tied for second place, which is his third time this season to achieve T2, plus a T3, and his outstanding performance also makes him the strongest contender for the best rookie of the season.

Defending champion McIlroy continued to play solidly in the final round, grabbing four birdies, swallowing two bogeys, handing over a 68, and going even further if he hadn't missed a 6-foot bird push on The 15th hole and an 8-foot Paula push on the closing hole.

Wheat finished 5th individually with a total score of -4, his 9th top 10 result in 11 appearances at the Wells Fargo Championship.

After winning the Wells Fargo Championship, Max Houma's FedEx Cup points ranking rose to No. 6, and the Presidents Cup U.S. team standings also rose to No. 6.
