On May 9, Great Wall Motor announced the latest sales data, a total of 53,777 new cars were sold in April, down 41.4% from 91,784 units in the same period last year; while the cumulative sales of new cars in January-April this year were 337277 units, down 21.7% year-on-year, as a comparison, Great Wall Motor's cumulative sales in the first four months of 2021 reached 430582 units.
In this regard, Great Wall Motors explained that due to the impact of the domestic epidemic, the supply chain, logistics and other aspects of the restrictions, the production end and the market side have been affected, but at present, Great Wall Motors is actively communicating and coordinating and solving problems, and it is expected to be significantly improved in May.
Specific to the brand, Haval, the pillar of Great Wall Motor's sales and "national first SUV", only sold 29,125 new cars in April, down 47.1% from 55,018 units in the same period last year, close to the waist.
Haval's performance in the first four months of this year is also difficult to say to be excellent, with cumulative sales of 195881 units, and from January to April 2021, it has sold 277746 new cars.
Although Great Wall pickup trucks are still the first pickup truck brand in China, production capacity has also been seriously affected, with sales of 13,206 units in April, down 34.6% year-on-year; while january-April cumulative sales of 56,158 new cars, down 29.4% year-on-year.
The tank brand sold 6,065 new vehicles in the past April, an increase of 10.3% from 5,500 units in the same period last year, compared with 31,818 cumulative sales in the first four months of this year.
In the new energy camp, Great Wall Motors' similar "stall", Euler sold 3088 vehicles in April, down 58.7% from 7476 in April 2021;
In addition, the sales of models of Great Wall Motor with more than 150,000 yuan accounted for 18.7%, the sales of models based on the three major technology brands of lemon, tank and coffee intelligence have accounted for 66.2%, and the proportion of intelligent models has reached 89%.
It is worth noting that the Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai areas are important cluster production areas of the domestic automobile industry, especially due to the impact of the epidemic in Shanghai, many automobile supply chain enterprises have temporarily stopped work, which has also led to the impact of many car companies across the country. Therefore, Great Wall Motors' sales in April fell sharply, and it will certainly not be the only vehicle company.
