Creative and cute! The designers built a mini electric car out of the fenders of the old Volkswagen Beetle

Electric vehicles we usually see a lot, the manufacturer's factory design is also dazzling, dazzling, although there are many choices, but according to the design template of others to produce which has a sense of achievement by themselves, so the designer Brent Walter has made such a creative and cute upgrade and reconstruction of the electric car. He used the fenders of an old Volkswagen Beetle as the new shell of the vehicle, with a rounded and cute appearance, and the designers called this mini car "Volkspod".

Brent Walter's modification of parts comes from the Volkswagen Beetle Type 1 or could be called a "Bug," and the Beetle has gained mass recognition since its release, becoming almost an iconic vehicle.

In the mid-to-late 1990s, its cute spherical structure captured almost everyone's interest, and production continued until 2003. To pay homage to bugs, and to be able to immediately identify these Volkswagen vehicles, the designers placed the logo between the headlights and handlebars of the two bikes.

The designers used the car's fenders to create this mini electric car, an original Type 1 Volkswagen Beetle, and cut the fenders from every corner of the car, fusing the four old fenders together to form the Volkspod's headlight and taillight system. The fenders were rounded and pod-shaped, so he named the bike Volkspod.

Because of the shape requirements, you need to cut the two fenders separately and then stitch them together

This compact scooter looks like it was from the 90s, with wide bike-like handlebars and bulb-like head and taillights. Similar to the Cyclops or the little green Mike Wazowski in monster company movies, Volkspod has a very eccentric, otherworldly appeal. And the colors are also the signature hues of the original Beetle; birch green and soft blue, perfect for people who like retro nostalgic styles.

For a fairly comfortable ride, they used foot pads and a moped saddle that was attached to the vehicle as a seat. The tires are also relatively wide and more comfortable, and the stability is also stronger.

In a conversation with BoredPanda, Walter said he used the Volkspod as an interesting product for the auto show: "I want an electric car for the Volkswagen Show. These fenders are left over from when I built the car. Because I also want to practice welding thin metal plates. ”

The petite and cute appearance attracted a lot of attention, so many craftsmen began to try to make the same Volkspod at home, and the finished products also had their own characteristics.

Powering the first mini bike was a 79cc micro motor, while the blue second had a 212cc motor and better ground clearance. At present, there is no product for sale in the vehicle, so if you like it, it is not impossible to gather materials to build one at home, of course, some people have already done so.
