Nintendo Switch Sports is a follow-up to the hugely successful Wii Sports, which is a wholesome time for the whole family. Nintendo added a profanity filter to the game to ensure that too outrageous words don't appear on the screen during online matches.

Unfortunately, these measures are easily circumvented, and some players start taunting their opponents with vulgar jokes. In Nintendo Switch Sports, players can create names for themselves by selecting words from a list of nouns. Some players choose to use this as a way to make vulgar jokes.
While this isn't a hugely damaging issue, Nintendo Switch Sports has relatively limited online communication, after all. But users on reddit have been discussing the topic, and some of them are very unhappy with the way Nintendo handles this issue.
One user believed that the game needed an "effective means of reporting", which is not yet available. The player's only option at the moment is to block users through the Switch system settings. Miis also allows players to create avatars that resemble real people, which has led to some equally inappropriate creations going viral online.
Previously, in Jet Fighter 2, players could use the Nintendo Switch Online app on their phones to report inappropriate activity by other players. Animal Friends has an in-game report button for reporting inappropriate emails, costume designs, player profiles, and chats. Nintendo Switch Sports needs a similar system.
It's unclear how the Nintendo will solve these problems after that, and that's not the only problem Nintendo Switch Sports has encountered.
