In 1959, at the age of 26, Nie Guangrong came to the Gujing Distillery, which had recently been converted into a factory, as deputy director. In the following thirty years, Nie Guangrong dedicated all his enthusiasm to Gujing.
In the arduous years of "thatched nests and wine lees", he led the older generation of Gujing people to win the national gold medal for four gujing tribute wines. The spirit of model labor, the spirit of labor and the spirit of craftsmanship have also taken root in the ancient well.
Under the leadership of Nie Guangrong, Guo Xiaotang, a winemaker of the older generation, on the basis of inheriting the traditional winemaking method of Gujing, "Jiujiu Wine Law", refined the ancient well winemaking technique and strictly controlled the quality of the original wine. In 1977, he was awarded the "National Model Worker of Daqing in Industrial Science".

On the basis of improving the production management system and winemaking technology, Liu Congai presided over the completion of a number of winemaking scientific research projects such as "research and application of functional nutrient solution for fragrant microorganisms", and was rated as a national labor model. Li Tianhua, a 31-year-old gujing brewer born in 1955, creatively developed it on the basis of inheriting traditional craftsmanship, and experimented with the "new process of low-temperature flowing wine" and "Li Tianhua pond bottom maintenance method", which were promoted throughout the country. In 1989, he was awarded the title of National Model Worker.

"Paying tribute to and learning from labor models" has become a tradition that the people of Gujing have planted in their hearts.
In the development process since then, Liu Ronghua, Zha Shuping, Yan Quanyi, Liang Jinhui, Liu Guoying, Li Yuqin and other national labor models and national May Day labor medal winners have gradually emerged, as well as many provincial and municipal labor models, gujing craftsmen, etc. The spirit of labor models and craftsmen is also more universally reflected in every Gujing person.
In 2017, Nie Guangrong's statue was unveiled in the Gujing Tribute Wine Brewing Heritage Park. In 2019, Nie Guangrong's advanced deeds entered the Great Hall of the People.
