Zilu once asked Confucius for advice, what is really strong?
Confucius said: Harmony without flow, strong correction; neutrality without leaning, strong correction. The state has a way, unchanged congestion, strong correction; the country has no way, until death does not change, strong correction.
The meaning of this sentence is: a gentleman can get along with people peacefully, and will not abandon his principles and go with the flow, which is really strong! A gentleman is independent, moderate, impartial, this is really strong! When the world is at peace, the country is the way, and the country is strong and the people are rich, the gentleman can still not covet the rich and do not change the moral integrity. When the world is chaotic, the country has no way, and the dynasty is chaotic, the gentleman can still adhere to moral integrity, different streams, and remain unchanged until death. ”
