Warcraft Superintendent on 10.0: Dark Ranger Custom Looks, Cross-Faction Guilds, New Expansion Packs

Source: NGA -NegativeFace

At 00:00 Beijing time on April 28, World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazzikostas and story director Steven Danuser held a one-hour Q&A session on Twitter, which mainly revolved around the dragon era, but also involved the upcoming 9.2.5 version.

The following is a move of the [interview summary] on wowhead, and a more complete replay can be heard on the World of Warcraft official tweet. The content of this post will be completed and corrected with reference to the playback on the basis of the wowhead summary.

Lessons learned by designers

One of the biggest lessons designers have learned from recent editions is "refusing to borrow power" (note: refers to new systems such as artifacts, Azerit, covenants, etc., that only work in their respective versions). Players acquire these abilities and then have to return them at the end of the release (which feels bad).

Many of the changes that were implemented in the 9.1.5 and 9.2 releases to benefit the player's gaming experience were not just remedies for the end of the release, but changes in design philosophy.

In Age of Dragons, almost everything (except equipment) is shared by Battle Nets — the main storyline can be skipped from the second character; dragon taming is also shared by Battle Nets (although the details of this system still need to be perfected), and if your dragon learns certain skills or abilities, you don't have to re-unlock those abilities on the trumpet. We know that a lot of people will level up the trumpet in the first week of the new version, so we tried to make the game system friendly to the trumpet from the first week.

Long Hill plot

(As a Dragon Hill player) you'll wake up from a long slumber and start wondering what happened to yourself and your leader, Nesario, the Deathwing. Other dragons don't necessarily know you exist, not even Alex Tassa.

Longhill starting map

Longhill's starting map isn't just a novice village, it's part of this world.

New version of the Prestige System

The Prestige system will be revolutionized in the new version. It hasn't changed since 2004, but the designers took inspiration from the Prestige system to think that players need to see the entire reward route intuitively, not at the Prestige Quartermaster to see the rewards. Certain forces in the Dragon Islands will operate in a form similar to fame, hoping that this will be a clearer and smoother reward system.

There may be plots unlocked based on prestige.

Although still under development, the new Prestige system should also follow the BattleNet Sharing Guidelines. The illusion of Prestige Unlock should be shared by Battlenet, and the mission or area unlocked by Reputation should be shared by Battlenet, but the equipment upgrade of Reputation Unlock will probably not be shared by Battlenet.

Task desk

There are currently no plans to join the Mission Desk.

plot

Steven Danuser knows how the plot should develop, I really don't believe it. They've designed an epic ending that's closely related to the characters we meet along the way and resonates with players.

The theme of the new version is dragons – their purpose and the threats they face.

The new version of the Great Secret Rotation

The five-person version of 9.0 and 8.0 (as the four old dungeons of the first season of the new version) are too new, and the designers are considering the Panda Man version of the dungeon, which is not short of interesting copies.

The purpose of the Great Secret Rotation Mechanism is to bring diversity. Designers can't prepare eight new books for each season, but they don't want people to have to re-farm the same trinkets in the same copy every 5-6 months. Each season shouldn't just be based on the season affixes that you've already played 100 times on the quest route, but rather a whole new puzzle-solving process.

It is possible that the mechanism of the old version will be changed to accommodate the current version.

Dragon Hill summons the Magician

As for whether Dragon Hill can play past versions, some of which will not be implemented immediately, such as the Mage Tower. Longhill will be able to experience version features such as Togast, but may not necessarily be reasonable in terms of plot. There are currently no plans to join the Sorcerer's Artifact and Class Hall.

Both of the Magician's specialties are intellectual specializations, much like shamans in terms of available weapons, but can use swords, not shields (this may change in the future).

It is unlikely that the Sorcerer has a tank specialization. It's essentially a spellcaster class (many specialized skill skills are note-reading skills). Initially it will only have two specializations, but if a third specialization is produced, it will also be one of the remote DPS and treatments.

Cromy time

Plans to turn ShadowLand into one of the options for Cromy Time, with a level range of 1-60.

The upgraded version of the new player is still the Battle for Azeroth.

Tyrese Falling Land

Something happened in Tyresephalindi in version 9.2.5, and they were related to Galia Minehir.

A custom look for dark ranger themes

Designers like story-related theme customization looks, such as the new look of the Night Elf in version 8.1, but there are not many opportunities for this. When similar opportunities arise, they will consider adding to the Dark Ranger look.

Flying and dragon taming

In the first or second version of the map, you will gain the trust of a fellow dragon who will be able to summon it in the Dragon Islands. At first it was not very good at flying and had limited physical strength, but as the bondage between you increased, these restrictions would gradually be relaxed. In the long run, normal flights will still be introduced on new maps. The dragon-riding experience should feel great at the beginning and then get better and better as the game progresses.

The way to upgrade dragon companions is still being designed.

Alex Tassa

If you're a DK player and have participated in the carnage of the Red Jade Temple in the Legion version, Alex Tassa may look at you coldly.

Cross-faction guilds

This is possible, but it involves a lot of technical issues. Cross-camp teaming is a step in this direction, and we will listen to the community in this regard.

Full level content

The daily experience of the new version will probably be similar to that of the 9.2 version of ZareYantis. Equipment, progression system, universal currency... This is the basis for the new version of full-level content, but the latter will be richer than limited to the 9.2 ciphertext system.

The treasure trove of grandeur will be preserved.

Designers like the design of the biochemical station, but in the new version, this type of catch-up mechanism/anti-face black mechanism may be provided by the manufacturing industry.
