Chai Shouwu, graduated from the School of Philosophy of Nankai University, majoring in aesthetics, is the lord of JinzhuTang and the lord of Baizhuxuan. He is currently a member of the China Artists Association, an honorary director of the Tianjin Artists Association, the deputy director general of the International Calligraphy and Painting Society (Hong Kong), the editor and reviewer of the China Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper, a member of the Tianjin Calligraphers Association, a member of the Tianjin Poetry Society, an honorary president of the Tianjin Minjian Calligraphy and Painting Institute, and a senior researcher of the China Poetry and Painting Research Institute.
His calligraphy and painting works have participated in many major exhibitions at home and abroad and won awards. Since 2003, he has held more than a dozen large-scale solo exhibitions at home and abroad, and in August 2019, he was invited to hold the "Jinhui Yurun-11 Chai Shouwu Jinzhu Chinese Painting Special Exhibition" in Toronto, Canada. He has published "Chai Shou Wu Poetry Calligraphy and Painting Collection", "BaiZhu Xuan Poetry Grass", "Chai Shou Wu Jin Bamboo Poetry Painting Collection" and other painting collections and carvings. In March 2018, tianjin fine arts publishing house published the landmark monograph on the golden bamboo technique, "Chai Shou Wu Golden Bamboo Chinese Painting Technique", the first monograph on the golden bamboo technique in the history of Chinese painting. In 2009, 2011 and 2013, respectively, in Macao, Taipei and Hong Kong, he participated in the organization and planning of three large-scale "International Development Forum on Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Art and Famous Artists Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition", published a number of papers and golden bamboo fine paintings, and successively reported by relevant newspapers and modern media, which aroused widespread concern in the calligraphy and painting circles at home and abroad.
Over the past 50 years, Mr. Chai Shouwu has continuously explored and innovated on the basis of sincerely inheriting the fine tradition of Chinese calligraphy and painting art, and gradually formed an artistic style of elegance and boldness. How do you evaluate works of art? I think it can be divided into two types, one is "good painting" and the other is "valuable painting".
