IT House April 24 news, last year Framework company introduced a modular upgradeable laptop with a beautiful design and user-replaceable memory, SSD and ports. Today, Framework corporations are selling the core of Framework laptops separately, the motherboard, without the need to buy any other laptop parts.
IT itself learned that the motherboard had already shipped in the U.S. and Canada and would soon expand to the rest of the U.K. and Europe. However, the choice of processor is still limited to three 11th generation Intel mobile chips, with the cheapest board equipped with the Core i5-1135G7 costing $399 (about 2601.48 yuan), while the Core i7-1165G7 costs $549 (about 3579.48 yuan) and the Core i7-1185G7 costs $799 (about 5209.48 yuan).
With the new motherboard, existing Core i5 users of Framework laptops can easily upgrade to Core i7 by replacing the motherboard.
In addition, users can build their own DIY computer on top of this motherboard, add the desired DDR4 memory or M.2-based storage, and like laptops, the motherboard is powered by its USB-C port, and users can add any favorite port module from the Framework's market.
Framework also published documentation and schematics on GitHub to help people design their own enclosures for Framework motherboards, as well as basic 3D printed enclosures. Everything you need to make your own small computer is in Github, including 2D images of the motherboard used to design your own accessories, and CAD files for printing sample housings.
Since the framework's laptop launch, the company has been slowly adding components to its market for repairs, upgrades, and make it the way you want it to be. They include displays, backshells, speaker kits, new keyboards, touchpads, and more.
