On September 21, 2021, President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Development Initiative at the General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, and industrialization, as one of the eight key areas of cooperation of the Global Development Initiative, will help developing countries reduce poverty, improve people's livelihoods and solve development difficulties.

Highlight China's responsibility as a major country in promoting world peace and development

Industrialization is the only way for a country's economic development. The eighth objective of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is "to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all". The world is looking to inclusive and sustainable industrial development, thinking about how industry can play a key role in driving world economic growth and achieving sustainable development.

However, the recent united Nations report", "The Importance of Industrialization for the Well-being of the World's People", shows that due to the continued impact of the epidemic on the economy, manufacturing growth in LDCs is nearly stagnant, and the gap may be further widened compared with economies that have achieved industrialization.

At the first phase of the 16th G20 Summit, President Xi Jinping once again stressed the importance of helping developing countries achieve industrialization, calling on the G20 to put development in a prominent position of macro policy coordination, implement the 2030 Sustainable Development Action Plan, implement the initiative to support africa and LDCs to achieve industrialization, and promote synergies in existing development cooperation mechanisms.
