Q series has always been the main force of realme's thousand yuan stall, last year's Q3 series has achieved quite good sales results in both online and offline channels. So far, in the major platforms, the Q3 series is a popular model with high sales in the thousand yuan machine market. A year later, the Q5 series is also coming.
The Q5 series is mainly divided into three models this time: True Self Q5 Pro, True Self Q5 and True Self Q5i. We are evaluating the Q5 Pro, its positioning is the "thousand yuan flash charge flagship", the biggest selling point is obviously 80W flash charge.
80W fast charge is the only one at the same price
At the beginning of the year, we conducted a more detailed statistical survey on the fast and full deployment of the mobile phone market of thousand yuan machines, and summarized the fast charging situation of the top 50 models in the Jingdong sales volume of 1000-2000 yuan. In addition, the fast charging standard between 33W and 65W belongs to the more advanced configuration of the current thousand yuan machine market, which accounts for 24% of the number of statistical models. There were even fewer models above 65W, only 8 models, and the highest standard at that time was 66W.
The current situation is actually roughly similar to this statistic, the main difference is that in the first quarter, some manufacturers put 67W fast charging to the thousand yuan machine, and several mobile phones with more than 65W specifications were added. So it seems that you should have more understanding of the "advancedness" of the Q5 Pro 80W specification fast charging, which is the only fast charging configuration at this current price point, and its charging specifications are even higher than the flagship mobile phones of many brands.
The fast charging head of the Q5 Pro is comparable to the previous Oujia 55W charging head. Support 5V/2A, 5-11V/7.3A output, and the cable is also 8A specification. According to the actual measurements, its peak power in the information screen state is above 62W. At such power, it is possible to achieve a power replenishment from about 0-40% in about 10 minutes. Because flagship mobile phones have long popularized high-specification fast charging, they can use fragmented time charging to alleviate battery life anxiety. In the past, high-power fast charging is still a high-end that can only be used by flagship machines.
The approach of the real Q5 Pro this time has pulled the fast charging power of the thousand yuan machine to a new height again. With a battery capacity of 5000mAh, it can largely solve the user's demand for mobile phone battery life.
Can cope with the highest picture quality "Original God"
In addition to fast charging, let's take a look at other aspects of the phone. In fact, when I first got my real Q5 Pro, I had a very familiar feeling. Because the design, size, and configuration of the entire mobile phone are quite close to the previous true self flagship products. If it weren't for the Q5 Pro changing two new colors this time, I believe that even if you directly get started, it will be difficult to see the difference.
The Q5 Pro I have has two new colors: Summer Burner and Snow Drift, and if you find the name hard to remember, it's not uncommon to understand it as orange and white. The Q5 Pro performs better against some of the more mainstream games, such as Glory of Kings and Peace Elite. Overall, although the Snapdragon 870 is basically a flagship processor from two years ago, thanks to the stable performance, even in the mobile phone market in 2022, its comprehensive performance can still be played, and the title of a generation of god U is really not blown.
"Unconventional" product ideas
In terms of camera configuration, the Q5 Pro is still equipped with a classic combination of 64MP main camera + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro. This is the most common camera configuration on realme mid-range mobile phones, and like most thousand-yuan machines, ultra-wide angle and macro lenses are better than "yes", and there is no picture quality. If you really want to talk about taking pictures, you mainly look at the main camera.

Compared with the iPhone 13 Pro, the Q5 Pro's main camera quality during the day is still quite solid. The expression of details and the resolution of photos are not a big problem. But as you can see, the two phones have a more obvious difference in color style. The overall saturation of the Q5 Pro sample is higher, while the iPhone 13 Pro is relatively realistic, with more accurate white balance and saturation. However, I noticed that there are actually many users around me who prefer this eye-pleasing style.

At night, the Q5 Pro's imaging style is closer to that of the iPhone 13 Pro. But again, the iPhone 13 Pro has a more accurate control of ambient light and overall color. With the help of the correction of the AI algorithm, the Q5 Pro can obtain a relatively good picture appearance.
In the green leaf part illuminated by the light source in the sample, it can be seen that the Q5 Pro can show a more intense green color, while the iPhone 13 Pro is relatively yellow (more inclined to the naked eye effect). In this relatively bright night environment, the difference in detail expression between the two mobile phones is not too large.
However, the Q5 Pro also has some problems, in the relatively low light environment, the main camera image quality will have a significant attenuation. At the same time, because the main camera is not equipped with optical image stabilization, the focusing and stabilization capabilities under low-light imaging also need to be optimized and improved. The result of the experience is that the image quality and environmental adaptability of the Q5 Pro main camera are still quite good.

To put it bluntly, the Q5 Pro should inherit some of the configurations of the previous GT series flagships. Considering their respective positioning, realme is equivalent to delegating last year's "sub-flagship" as a whole to the Q series that focuses on the thousand-dollar market.
In the past, delegating some of the configuration and performance of the old flagship to lower-level products was a routine operation of mobile phone manufacturers. In the early thousand yuan machine market, the time period of this decentralization was as long as two or three years or even longer. That is to say, some of the main configurations on this year's flagship mobile phones, if you want to see them on the thousand-dollar machine, may be two or three years later.
In contrast, realme's approach this time is more unconventional. Not only did they narrow the waiting period, but they also migrated a flagship solution directly to the whole. At the same time, the configuration of the 80W flagship fast charger has been strengthened at the experience level. In this way, the Q5 Pro's cost-effective advantage in the same level of market is quite obvious.
In this way, the price of the Q5 Pro should also be controlled in the range of 1500-2000 yuan (the price has not been announced at the time of writing). It should not be difficult to judge whether to buy the old model or buy the new model according to the price difference.
