Guo Wei's return home was postponed again.

The positive patients who lived in the same apartment as him have been notified of the cabin one after another, but Guo Wei's nucleic acid results have not yet come out, and can only continue to stay in the cabin.

Some netizens joked with him: is the work too good to let you go.

Guo Wei is a native of Inner Mongolia, after 95, after graduating from university, he went to Shanghai to start a business. Before his diagnosis, he volunteered in the community where he lived.

After his diagnosis on 9 April, he was taken to a cabin converted from the National Exhibition and Convention Center for isolation. In the square cabin, he signed up again as a volunteer.

Whether it was being infected as a volunteer in the apartment, or being a volunteer in the cabin, Guo Wei did not dare to tell her parents, but only communicated with her cousin privately. Afraid of family worries.

The National Exhibition and Convention Center is currently the largest square cabin in operation, with thousands of people in one district. He delivers thousands of box lunches a day, but is the last to eat; he also guides new patients, assists in circulation, and soothes patients with poor mood, often busy until the early hours of the morning.

Volunteers hand out daily necessities to newly arrived patients

In the case of medical staff who are already overloaded, the existence of volunteers is to try to make everyone's life more comfortable.

Here's his self-description.

01

Placed in "home" quarantine

Eat two hours later than the average patient

On April 9, I felt like I might have been "hit", with nasal congestion, sore throat, migraines, and a bit of a stomach upset. The neighbors' nucleic acids have all come out, but mine has not yet come out.

Soon, my health code was red, and the CDC called to confirm the diagnosis, informing me that I would be sent to the cabin for isolation within one or two days.

It happened that on this day, I saw the news that the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the largest square cabin hospital in Shanghai, was opened.

I am a practitioner of the animation game industry, and many large-scale animation exhibitions in China are held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, so I am more familiar with this place than home. I prayed: I wish I could go here.

Coincidentally, in the early morning of the 10th, I was really arranged to be a "four-leaf clover".

My friend and I joked that I became the first community to come to ComiCup, the "booth" is in Hall 4.1 C2-05 District 120, welcome to play, this is the best network signal.

Guo Wei's bed

Because it was a cabin that arrived at more than two o'clock in the morning, I slept for a few hours before registering for patients, and then immediately signed up to volunteer. The requirements for volunteering in the square cabin are not high, basically there is no fever and no cough.

These days, the busiest thing is to transport and distribute supplies.

Volunteers have less time to work and rest than the average patient. Breakfast is served around six o'clock every morning, so it is better to get up earlier than everyone else. We cooperate to push carts and deliver meals, and a district has to deliver at least 2400 breakfast, lunch and evening box lunches a day, and there are enough food, and you can get two servings if you can eat.

It takes almost two hours to deliver and receive food at a time, and we usually eat only the last meal.

In addition, we also need to count and check the data of diabetics, the elderly and children, etc., so as to facilitate the subsequent preparation of special meals for them.

To be honest, the meal treatment of the square cabin is quite good in Shanghai at present.

Just kidding, as volunteer team leaders, the biggest hurdle we face at meals is to "compete" with the volunteers in the next district for transportation.

Because everyone volunteers are quite sufficient, it leads to insufficient trolleys to deliver box lunches. So in order for patients on both sides to eat as quickly as possible, we have to speed up the distribution.

The biggest problem was not being able to find a bed

Volunteers also slept late at night.

The cabin may bring new patients at any time, and we must respond in time to classify them, generally a group of men, a group of women, a group of the same company, and a group of one family. Then arrange the beds according to the classification.

After that, they had to do flow tuning and assist with nucleic acids, and they couldn't stop for four or five hours.

Occasionally, oolongs occur.

One morning in the early hours of the morning, we received news that new patients would come, and a dozen of us got up and went to the door to wait for an hour without waiting for anyone, so we went back to sleep. Fortunately, this has only happened once.

The most common problem we encounter in this cabin is to find a bed.

Every day in the volunteer group, the most people say is "I have a lost one."

There are four or five thousand people living in our cabin, and in our area alone, there are fifteen or six of them. All the beds are uniformly renovated, almost exactly the same, you don't have a high degree of self-transformation, it is really difficult to find the way.

So many people left their beds and couldn't go back. More than a dozen people were circling in similar places, and the scene was a bit funny.

What's even more outrageous is that patients in the next area have come to our area to find a bed; others not only can't even remember how many beds they are, but also forget the approximate location.

So if you are arranged to the national exhibition cabin or other particularly large venues, the first thing to do is to take a picture of your bed number and record it on your mobile phone. In this way, even if you get lost, you can call volunteers to help you find it together.

Although many ways have been thought, the problem of getting lost has not been completely solved. After all, at the annual fandom event, no matter how many times they come, some people still can't find the direction.

Someone is making things difficult

But most support it

There are indeed cases of non-cooperation with volunteer work in the cabin.

For example, to grab a box lunch, in fact, everyone has it, there is really no need to grab. We patiently explained it, and most people scattered.

The next area was encountered once more seriously. A great uncle always asked us if we had any money to take as volunteers, and after saying no, he asked us to ask for money. Later, because the volunteers did not start delivering supplies from their own direction, uncle quarreled with people again.

However, there are still few such people, and most people do not skimp on a "thank you".

To be honest, you asked me if there was anything particularly touching, but I couldn't think of it. I don't think volunteering is a great thing, as a member of the Communist Youth League, it is right to do what you can. Even if it is late at night, the time for chatting will pass.

Guo Wei

What is more touching is that a few days ago, I saw a volunteer mother with her child delivering supplies, and the mood was quite special.

I think there is no invincible epidemic with such a person.

There is a big brother Xu who wears glasses in the volunteer team, saying that it is actually more appropriate to call him uncle according to age. Although he is old, he is very active, and if there is any emergency or need assistance, he is always there.

I usually see someone responding, so I don't go first, but Brother Xu will arrive every time.

After he turned yin this time, he applied several times to stay and continue to be a volunteer, but was rejected by the fang cabin and let him go home.

Old Brother Xu also faced the problem of shortage of materials when he returned. After so many days in the square cabin, he didn't have rice rape at home. I gave him some dry food I had brought from home, and he resigned for a long time, which made me very embarrassed.

Hopefully, the street can care more about the people who have just left the square cabin. Because they are not at home, they often miss the distribution of supplies and need to replenish many necessities.

In fact, the other day I was still very anxious, familiar people have been out of the cabin, and now the first batch of volunteers is only me, somewhat lonely.

But at the end of the day, people are homesick.

There was a lady who seemed to have received not very good news and cried when she answered the phone. The doctor and I immediately went over, first to comfort the lady and second, to comfort the crowd of onlookers.

Although I am worried in my heart, I still have to do a good job, after all, there are so many people in need around.

New and old volunteers are on shift

The overall condition of "clover" in the square cabin is actually good, and what needs to be solved is the hygiene problem of the toilet.

Ten thousand people share more than a dozen toilets, and the pressure can be imagined. In addition, there is a row of sinks outside the toilet, the amount of water is large, and the ground is often splashed everywhere.

In particular, I hope that there will be better management methods after this part of the toilet.

Volunteers take a group photo

Yesterday, my name finally appeared on the list of departures, and I was selected as an excellent volunteer, and I felt a long sigh of relief.

It's finally time to leave office and go home.
