After Musk acquired a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, he reportedly became the largest shareholder in Twitter, holding more than four times the 2.25 percent stake of Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. Recently, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal said that Elon Musk has decided not to join the Twitter board, but Musk as tesla boss is still the largest shareholder of Twitter, and the company will continue to accept his opinion.
Over the weekend, Mr Musk suggested changes to Twitter's Blue premium subscription service, including cutting its price, banning ads and offering the option to pay with the cryptocurrency Dogecoin. He also launched a poll asking if the letter "w" should be removed from Twitter, with the only options being "yes" and "of course." Separately, on Saturday Musk defiantly questioned the platform, posting "Is Twitter going to die?" He also provided statistics on the ten Most Followed Twitter accounts, lamenting that "most of these 'top' accounts rarely tweet and post very little content."
More than an hour after Twitter's CEO announced that Musk would not join the board, Mr. Musk mysteriously posted an emoji on Twitter, which has now been deleted.
