There was a farmer who hoeed a piece of gold while hoeing the field, wow, it must have been given to him by the goddess of the land. Therefore, every day when he went to work in the fields, he gave a crown of flowers to the land goddess to thank the land goddess for her gift.

After a few days, the goddess of fortune appeared before him and said to him, "Hey, the piece of gold you hoeed before was given to you by me because I saw your hard work and pity, so why did you take the gift I gave you as if it were given to you by the goddess of the land?" ”

On one occasion, the Greek orator Demades (an ancient Greek orator from the 4th century BC) gave a speech in Athens. He found that people were absent-minded, and it was obvious that everyone did not like to hear it, so he told a fable, he said: "The goddess of agriculture, Demeter, walks with swallows and eels." They came to a river, and suddenly, the swallows flew away and the eels burrowed into the water. ”

After he said these few words, he stopped making a sound. At this time, an audience member asked, "What happened to Demeter?" ”

Demades said, "Oh, she's mad at you, because you don't care about the affairs of the city-state, you only want soathe's parables." (People always like to hear about pleasure)
